any tips on how to help my 11 year old daughter with multiplication

I have tried flashcards and they work somewhat but my daughter loves the old schoolhouse rock videos and I found a math game that she can play on her nintendo ds game system.....it can be challenging....

If she is in school and using a math book, there should be a site inside of the cover for her to go to. The site lets them practice, and does it in a fun way. My daughter used it and found she loved math which was not the case at first.

Multiplication is really more memory than anything else. Cards are really great so she can see the problem and the answer and memory will take off once she has done them continuously.

I tried a multiplication chart on his wall beside his bed. Even more successful, was the one in the toilet. (theres nothing else to do in there, so he figured he might as well read it)

After trying everything for my 11 year old and spending countless dollars on a tutor, flashcards and games I was at the point where I figured she was never going to learn her multiplication. Than I found Times Tables the Fun Way. Worth every dollar I spent on it and my daughter learned her times in just a little over a week. This is a system based on pictures and stories. It's called "Times table sing along CD book". I got it thru my local Avon girl here in Australia. Although i have been told u can get them at educational book shops. It did have a website on the back but again it is Australian... i'll put it up anyway. www.fivemile.com.au

we just bought a cd with the mutiplications set to music... desperatly hoping this works for my 9yr son. Thinking i may put it on when he goes to bed... in the car and even and i'm sure he thinks this is a real punishment if he is sent to his room, lol. Not that he get's in trouble that much, thankfully he is pretty good. Just hasn't clicked with the times tables.

I also use a blank graph and let her fill in what she know and figure out the rest. As she studies she will be able to complete it fasterand faster.

My daugfhter is LD and we use all the tricks we can. Is she visual learner? I taught 2X by counting by 2s. Same with 5s. I also showed her that trick with 9s. If you write all the 9 problems, you will see that the number in the tens column is always one less than the factor and the number is the ones column is always the number you need to add to that number to make up 10 example is 9 x 2 = 18. These tricks can stick in unusual ways.

Flash cards...Let the 10 year old help the 11 year old..It should help both in learning them..Hope this helped

There are monsters and she has to fight them....multiplication facts come up on the monsters belly and she has to answer them to make the monster go away and move to the next level.
