I know, your right. Thankfully, I am way more relaxed now. Before talking to those doctors I was a complete mess, I actually got myself sick.

Erica you really need to relax, if you are going to get this worked up over things while raising your daughter, it certainly won't be to the benefit of your daughter also you are going to give yourself an aneurysm.

She bopped her head in the frenzy of people over to meet her. I didn't think it was ct scan worthy but the dr at the hospital said he tought it should be done. I figured she must have really needed it considering his patient was so young. But it turned out she didn't and I should have said no, truthfully I shouldn't have even gone to the hospital looking back, I was extremely over tired and I think I had a major anxiety attack when it happened because she was so new and being a new mom. I mean I now know more about radiation then I ever thought I would in my life. I contacted the top pediatric radiologists around the us and overseas to find out if she would be hurt by the dose of radiation she was adminitered. I might have went overboard but it really worried me. I will never go to the internet again because googling ct scans in babies brings up a hellll of a lot of scary information. & I actually also emailed and phoned the people who wrote those articles and the doctors who were behind those articles. I really appreciate you ladies replying back to me regarding this. It makes me feel so much better hearing it from other moms.

Erica, What are the circumstances surrounding the cat scan?If it wasnt needed then why was it done? My son had several tests done at 2 days old. Cat scan included, Mri, several others. He had a seizure 2 days after birth. Had a little fluid around brain from birth being so fast. One minute im not in labor and bam 5 mins later he was here. LOL:] Really fast. But he is 19 years old and a college student and healthy.

hello Erica .. My son is 26 years old and he was born with retinoblastoma (a rare childhood cancer of the eye) they did many ct scans on him and he is just fine today (minus and eye) but a very healthy 26 year old.. the only thing i would say is idk if they still do it but i know they had to give my son medication to make him sleep during the tests so he didn't move around . Be really careful and ask questions because they did give him to much one time and he slept for 17 hours and we were pretty scared about that. and i know that is on the nurse that gave him the medication but as far as the tests go i would say they give you those dangers as a pretty rare case but just saying it could happen.. not that its a popular thing. hope i helped ease your worries .. infact the pic of the little girl on my page is his daughter she is gonna be 5 next month.. :-) ♥

Oh wow. How old is your little girl?
That's the issue I'm dealing with, it was not needed. I am so upset.

my daughter had ct scans within hours of her birth and she hasn't suffered in the least from them she is a smart well adjusted little girl. They are more frightening for us parents then for the kids. Be strong and whatever they are doing it for will be worth it .
