eating disorder?

My soon to be 13-year-old daughter is limiting the foods that she eats and is constantly weighing herself. She does eat, but she is very aware of the calories, and whether or not it will make her fat. Should I be worried or is this just a phase?

i think its just a phase, just keep an eye on her, without letting her know your worried, this sometimes makes things worse, my daughter went through the same thing and it seemed to me she was only eating one meal a day, she had been larger than other girls in her year when she started secondary school but not fat a healthy size 14, i knew she was not eating all day except a couple of peices of fruit, so in the evening i made sure she was home for tea and we ate together, i did not mention to her i was worried, yes she lost weight and soon started eating more healthy, just keep an eye on her,

it is healthy for kids to watch what they eat, to some extent but if its taking over her life, then thats when you need to intervien? cooking healthy meals together is a good idea too hope this helps you a bit xx

since she is so calorie conscious I would talk to her doctor about referring her to a nutritionist who can talk to her about the proper way to eat in order to stay healthy. This way she sees you are interested in her health and not on at her to eat.

If you see this, leave this form field blank.
