Going to and getting up...

My son has never liked to go to bed nor does he like to get up in the morning. I was wondering if anyone out there has some good advice as to how I could get him to do both without falling off my rocker... I am sick a lot so my patience level is somewhat low at times and I don't want that to factor in to the situation. We tend to get silly and we are very close so I was hoping to get some feedback that could make the experience fun, but not out of control to where he gets too excited and has a hard time settling down.

Thank you in advance for your time.

For going to: we read.  Reading time is a mandatory thirty minutres before lights out.  That seems to take it into a lower gear and help him calm down and make the transition to sleeping instead of playing planning plotting, days events.

For up:  I walk him to the show and turn it on, then I go make  tea and breathe.  We have done this for a long time.  He now, (most of the time) gets up wiht his alarm and staggers off to the shower.  I still have to kick him out of the shower sometimes, but it's getting better.  Today he was out of the shower and up here on time.  Even had his hair combed.  I wonder if there is a girl in one of his classes today.. LOL
