I feel your pain! I can still see the doctor holding back his laughter when I asked him if it was okay for my then 11 yr old to "have so much puberty". I am sorry your son seems to be taking it roughly.

My 12 yr old has been shaving for almost a year now. My 10 yr old has more facial hair than his brother did, and has been expressing a desire to shave, but I have been putting him off, mostly in hopes he can hold out for the next school year. My 12 yr old shaves just his upper lip once a week or so, since that is the only place he needs it. It makes him feel less "different". Plus, I think being able to shave gave his early development a coolness factor that made him feel more comfortable with it.

As far as pimples go, that depends on how sensitive his face is. I just bought my boys some good gentle facial soap and make sure they wash their faces twice a day. My oldest likes the Neutrogena bar, but my youngest likes the non-medicated cleansing pads. My older son also likes the Clean and Clear Acne Spot Treatment, and that seems to help, you just put it on when you need it. My boys do not have a lot of pimples, but if they do develop more that basic skin care doesn't help, I will take them to the dermatologist. A lot of those products at the store can make acne worse. I hope this helps!

Mine had quite the stash & started shaving about a month ago he is 14 he could of done it earlier but I waited for him to want to do it. I bet my 10 yr old does not wait so long as he is already asking to start.
