I do this to open up a better line of communication sometimes and she writes back :)))

Sometimes writing can open up doors that can't be opened orally

That's so nice! My father and his mother exchanged letters every month until she died (at 100!) even though they only lived 15 mins drive apart. Keep it up!!

I have never done this but if it works for you keep it up communication is very important
