My 11 y.o. is suffering badly! I have never had cramps like this so I can't say that I know her pain...WHAT can I give her or do for her? I've tried a heating pad...she said it makes her stomach hurt worse. I've given her hot tea (no sugar), we've tried Motrin, Tylenol and Mydol...none of which seemed to work. The only thing that made it not hurt was sleep. I don't want to give her sleeping pills just for cramps, but I hate to see her in such pain! ANY suggestions will be helpful!! Thank you...

I know her pain I was 8 years old when I became a woman and I hurt so bad.. My mom bought me a small heating pad to help and it helped alot but I hurt so bad that the 1st day or 2 I had to stay home from school for the 1st year until we knew what I could take because I was so young! Ibuprofen and Tylenol were my two best friends and hot baths helped too.. Good luck

Dear Rhonda, I know all about those pains. But it has been along time since I had those. I found that if I stayed away from salt and caffenine prior to my periods that worked well. My first day was usually the worse. And I would have to pop to many pain pills to kill the pain. If she eats alot of chips of salty snacks that might be the problem. I know there is natural cures you might want to try. google this.

as a teenager i suffered unreal pains and was off school 2 days every months then my mum discovered naprogesic it is concentrated on the cramps and works really well you used to have to get a script for it but now i think you can get it over the counter, give this a try and i hope it works for your daughter as good as it worked for me

Have you tried Pamprin Max? This works well for my daughter, now almost 13,*gasp*.She started at age 11. The only other thing we've found that really helps is Exedrin Migraine. But please, ask your daughter's doctor before using any drugs, really. My daughter is not quite 13,yet stand 5'7 3/4";weighs just under 130lbs,so she can take adult dose of most meds. Good luck;I myself suffered w/ severe cramping(still do sometimes!!!)

Have you talked to her doctor about this? I have really bad cramps sometimes, but I just found out mine is from endometriosis, and I was put on the pill to control it. I dont think endometriosis is a problem for young girls I would definetly ask a female doctor, maybe even a gyno.

Have you tried hot water bottles? or a heating pad. it will help to relax the muscles. also massage, if she can massage the muscles that can help too. have you tried midol? they have maximum strength. hopt this helps a little, good luck.

I had the same problem, It was to the point of missing school. I would even end up vomiting. I know that you probably don't want to do the because of her age, but I eventually had to go on the pill. It help a lot. you may want to talk to your doctor.
