My 12 year old daughter looks too big for her age. How to respond when people think, she is 20 when she is only 12. She looks big but she acts like a kid. Please help.

Thanks

There's nothing you can really do. She's big. That's her. You could try dressing her more like a child, but I'm not sure that will help. Is she insecure about it? If she's comfortable, there's nothing to change,

both my girls are 5'ft 10 and are absolutley beautiful. when they were younger it was hard, because people tend to expect more from kids who look older, but eventually that passed. my husband and I have always been encouraging and suppportive. people dont mean any harm, and later, as time went on, many other girls would tell them how much they wished they themselves were tall. I always told them the benefits are being tall. neither girl wanted to be models, and they still wish they were a little shorter(finding a tall guy isn'f awlays easy, and wearing those knock out heels. lol) but my oldest married a 6'ft 6' guy and my youngest, well, she's still waitng on that.

I have two girls ages 16 and 14 that are both 6 ft tall and look older then they are, always have. (My husband is 6'4) I know it can get upsetting and tiresome to constantly tell others how old she really is especially when they are young. When others make comments about how big my girls are I tell them " We grow them big in our family and are very proud of it" and remind the person of the correct age. It use to bother me, but not anymore.

I don't know if it bothers your daughter that she is big, but I've talked with my girls since they could understand about how beautiful they are, that they should be proud of who they are and that God made them that way for a reason. (My 14 year old decided years ago it was so she could be the first girl in the NBL)

Now that my girls are older and speak up they tell people they like being taller, bigger then others God made them extra special to stand out above all others.

I don't know if this will help or not, but I hope it does.
