My 12 yr old son has found his first real pimple! How do I help him accept and limit them?

"first of all , make sure he knows this  is something everyone gets and tell him not to pop it - only makes it worse.  The most important thing is to not touch it with dirty hands and keep the face clean morning and night - wash!  Hey, my husband had to go to work last month with one right on the tip of his nose!!! That had to have been horrifying - at least women can use a little cover up!  Leslie

Karen said it. My son is 12 now and I told him he has to keep his face washed and hair back off his face because it causes the oils to brake him out more. He is to wash in the morning as he is getting ready for school and before bed. You may have to test a few products out to find witch one works for him. I hope this helps. Good luck and God Bless.

I gave my boys a trip to the drug store. We bought face wash (apricot scrub) and some stridex pads. I buy them only the generic brands too. Then I brought it home and showed them how to use it. They have made it part of bedtime routines and in the morning it's part of getting ready for school. I was pretty casual about it and matter of fact so they haven't been upset by their breakouts. Good Luck!!!   ~Karen
