My daughter is 11 and is diagnosed with OCD obsessive compulsive disorder (anxiety). She has had all sorts of anxious habits;pulling eyebrows and eyelashes, cracking fingers, twisting hair, and recently we just cured her biting her nails, but now she bites the skin around them her cuticles. They bleed alot and hurt o look at. She wants to stop but she just cannot control herself. All the treatments like iodine and stuff to make it taste bad burn her daly and infect them because they are open wounds. Tape does not work she peels it off and I don't want to punish her because she can't really control it... Help?

Did the fake nails work for her skin as well? Because she stopped biting nails about a week ago, but still bites the skin. Thanks for that advice. Someone else said acrylics but I'd rather not. That sounds like a great option.

my daughter was chewing nails and skin as we'll. So one day I put fake BSnails on her like the ones I wear from the nail salon and it worked!! Yes I was not planing on letting her get them at such a young age but I could not stand to see her nails like they were anymore. three months later almost completely grown out. Dose not hurt to try , it may help. Good luck.
