Hi, Ok this might sound like I'm crazy but a friend of mines young daughter had VERY bad acne ...tried a heap of things and ended up costing her a fortune....... In the end a friend told her that one sure way to clear it up was to clense with Colgate Toothpaste !!! YES you read right... Just think about it for a minute.....it also gets rid of all sorts of bacteria in our mouths does it not ? so why not on our face as well? Inexpensive but a very good acne killer... Try it what do you have to lose?

Neutrogena.com has the new line Skin ID as already stated. Go to the web site and just take the test with her. You'll find out what products work for her type of acne, and you can buy very similar Neutrogena products at the store for half the price. My son's test said he needed the salicylic acid cream cleanser, the salicylic acid astringent pads, and the benzoyl peroxide spot treatment. Ever since he started using this combo, his skin has been very clear, with only occasional breakouts. He ran out of the cleanser one day, and it took us a few days to get to the store. His breakouts came back! So we try not to run out any more!

By far the best treatment for acne at any age is definitely the Unblemish line by Rodan and Fields. (these are the dr.s who created proactive!) This line can treat acne scars, and treats acne under the skin so it doesn't have a chance to surface. It's definitely worth every penny. Think saving in psychiatrist bills later in life;) I get mine from alyani.myrandf.com a great link to get to all their products and info!

There is a lot of great and simple acne treatments!! My daughter also has pimples and she is 11 years old! Every night she washed her face!! We applied sea breeze which is a really good acne liquid that you apply with cotton or anything you'd like to! Every night before bed we first applied vapro rub! Which could also be used for a stuffy nose!! And after that we applied toothpaste anytype but I use Colgate!! Hope you and your eleven year old enjoy it!! My eleven year old says she defenitly sees a difference!! 😃

If money is short.. try the new Nutrogena line called skin ID..

I use something I got from a dermatologist.. its available at Fred Meyer and Walgreens.. I think maybe Rite Aide too.. its called PURPOSE. You have to use the wash and the matching face lotion.. it sounds weird but sometimes over oily or pimple skin is because you are over drying.. It may take a week or so to normalize from over oil production

Try something natural like Witch Hazel or Basic bar soap or even something like cetaphil all of these are gentle on skin.

The only thing that ever worked for my husband was Melaleuca's products.  He had extreme acne on his back and face and still periodically gets some now that he is in his 30s.

My daughter also uses Alouette....we also tried Proactive...it worked but dried out her skins so much she couldn't use it. Alouette seems to be the only stuff she can use that actually works....and it's not as expensive as some stuff.

I have dealt with skin problems for 16yrs..I wish my parents took me to a dermatologist when it first started and it could have been controlled bc my skin didn't respond to anything I could by at the store, and not only did it damage my skin, but my self esteem for years. If you can take her to a dermatologist, I would, the sooner you can get it under control, the better.

I make my son take vitamins A and B6 could possibly go for a higher #,also I get him to wash his face everyday and at night get him to dab on tea tree oil to the effected areas..it seems to dry the acne up a bit.....it works great when I can get him to do this lol drink lots of water as well......hope that helps

[deleted account]

Our doctor perscribed Clindamycin Phosphate Gel(don't know the name brand) and it works really well. The biggest help is washing their face morning and night but that's easier said than done.

While being pregnant (major break outs) I have discovered that Aloette Acne treatment worked the best for me.  The package comes with wash, toner, acne treatment, & moisturizer.  I used this before I was pregnant too cause I was breaking out.  I tried the Proactive too before this, & it also didn't work for me.  The package is I think like $50, & it may seem like you don't get very much, but it will last a good couple months.  Don't need very much of any product when using.

I took my daughter to a dermatologist at a young age because I did not want her acne to get worse or scar.  They gave her topical ointment and thenantibiotics.  She has very clear skin now.
