Surprise with water balloons. Scavenger hunt.. It is always fun. Hit boxes for everyone there and count the boxes before you hide them (just like Easter egg hunting).... Hope this helps.

I haven't read the replies so if I'm doubling up.....my apologies. We took my daughter and her friends bowling. Even us adults had a great time. The Alley let us bring in our own food and cake and a good time was had by all. We're thinking about doing it as a family fun night.

My daughter is turning 12 she is more tom boyish than a girly girl ,not sure what to do for her Birthday party??? I mentioned almost everything from, arcade, jump zones, movies, paint party ,theres no outdoor places open yet,she did bowling before. We thought about a house party but have to think of fun things to do here so they aren't bored. I had one before for her with a pinata which they liked,we have a jacuzzi and a trampoline so that helped but they still get crazy and bored after awhile.Any suggestions???

Depending on purse strings, here are some ideas: Cinemas, Ice Skating, Theme park all as a group.
If money is an issue then perhaps you could organise for all to attend the local farm and feed the animals with a game of spotlight in the dark afterwards or get them all to play outdoor sports with a twist

My kids friends have been having skating parties and loving them. If you've got a skating rink near you that could be fun and you don't have to set up ot clean up (best part). :)

music and freeze dance, throw in some glow sticks and a black light. the kids love it.
try a fear factor game. set up an obstacle course, throw a tasty crazy mix in the blender and give it a creepy name. or try a survivor party.

That age is so hard for things like this. They are to old pin the tail on the donkey lol, but to young for other things. Ok have a little dance party. Kids love music. Find out what type his friends listen too. You can burn cd's off of websites like limewire. Just take your cds outside with the cd player. Since you'll be outside, have a cookout. Don't just have icecream and cake, but grill up some hot dogs and hamburgers. Kids that age don't really need party games because they are more interested in just socializing with each other. But if I remember right I think on my 12th birthday we had a scavanger hunt. My mom wrote up a list and we broke up into boy girl teams. I lived in a small neighborhood so we were able to knock on neighbor's doors and ask for items on the list. I'm sure there was a prize involved but I don't remember what it was that was way to many years ago. If your yard is big enough you can have a ball game and break up into teams, boys vs girls. Or just a game of frisbee. Just about any outdoor activity I'm sure they will enjoy as long as its not too chidish. But I think just music and a cookout alone will make your son happy.
