My daughter was told today by a group of girls that she needed to get a padded bra? When is the right time?

I would say it depends on your daughters development. My 11 year old has padded and sports bras but she's developing quite quickly. She hates wearing them tho. I would say if she's asking to wear one and the other girls in her class are wearing them it wouldn't hurt to get her a training bra. We all have to start wearing these god awful contraptions some time :(

My daughter is 10 about to be 11. She has been wearing a bra since she was 9. There are a lot of her friends that wear padded bras, however I felt in unnecessary to get a 10 year old padded boobs. I teach her to love herself the way she is. She will have enough time as an adult with padded bras and underwire. We just make bra shopping fun and she picks them out with matching undies. They are still babies at this age. Try not to let her get to big for her britches, ya know!

My twelve year old has been wearing a padded bra for about 2 years now. If you go to Walmart you can get one in the kids area that are nearly flat and then you can feel good about her having one.

i dont think at ten you should be worried about a padded bra. at this point if she is developed u should deff get a bra. my nine niece is wearing a training bra because i started to notice them growing in. things like this is all about the rite time of her development. u dont want to go to fast.

Samantha has been wearing them almost 2 tears because she needed to. She hates it but I found the sports ones work and she is ok with wearing those

a padded bra? my goodness.....how far is she developed? Are her breasts developed enough for a bra? Not good to start off having your peers tell you you need a padded bra. She just may be taking longer to develop. As soon as her breasts have developed to where it is obvious she needs a bra to hold them in place, then she should wear one. If she is not developed enough, they may have "training bras" (I am dating myself lol) which may help. Good luck in whatever you decide and I hope her friends don't continue to make comments like that.

I have a 14 year old and I bought her a bra when she started to bud...I felt that she needed to be covered and it would get her ready to wear them for the rest of her life.. Kids these days are mean and if I can help protect her from being put down for any reason I will help her... If your daughter is being picked on maybe it is time to protect her and buy her a bra...

My daughter is 11 and she has been wearing a bra for a year or so. When she started budding then I knew it was time. So, I suggest if she is budding then have a girls day and go shopping for bras. My daughter like to get the ones with the matching underwear. Hope this helps.

That depends on how early she develops. Please don't be in denial like my mom and have the child sagging all of her life due to the lack of support. If she is starting to bud, make the purchase.

Ok I have an 11 year old daughter and neice. My daughter seemed to sprout overnight and now needs a bra while her cousin is completely flat and is complaining about not having them. For some reason this is very important to girls this age. I say if she wants to wear a bra then let her even if she doesn't need one...... who is it gonna hurt?? My daughter has been wearing the sports bras for a year before she ever had breasts. The right time is when she feels it is time.....unless she is big enough to see through her shirts then mom your gonna have to tell her it's time. Good Luck!! Remember this is just girl boobs we are talking about here it's not the end of the world but it is importantto the girls at this age.

My daughter has worn sports bras from the girls section since she was 9... This year the sports bras just didn't seem to be enough and she is 12 so I bought her bras but now I have known of some of her friends who developed alot sooner like 9 and 10 and had to wear bras. So actually you need to make that decision. My daughter's breast are new she just started developing over the summer when she was 11 so I bought her more rounded bras. They look padded but they aren't.

Wow, girls are mean. Her response to those girls should have been, "Yea, maybe I should. Where did you get yours?" Why would a group of girls be concerned about your daughter's breasts?

My daughter has started to develop and even though she's not big, they are hurting her. She has 2 underwire bras. I just told her what Vicki wrote about not wearing underwire. What's M&S? Maybe those tank tops with the built in bra would be good for her. My daughter likes those.

It sounds more like she has a bully issue than a bra issue. If she were to wear a padded bra, those girls would notice and make fun of that too. Those girls are trying to chip away at her self esteem, don't let them.

Hi, my daughter now 11 has been wearing a bra for about a year because she needed one. She doesn't like to wear them, she'd rather wear a shirt with a zip up hoodie over it all day. Don't know about padded, my daughter likes the sports bras. I suggest you have your daughter measured for a comfortable fit. When you notice she is showing through her tops, then you know it's time. Much better to get her wearing a bra before boys start saying something, and they will! Hope this gives you some insight.

Hi, my daughter's just turned 11 and she's had a bra for about a year (she's quite developed and needed one). I had her measured at m&s free and they advised that she doesnt wear underwire ones at her age. They do angel bras for girls/teenagers and are great. Hope this helps x.
