My almost 10 yr old girl will not go to bed alone or stay in bed- every night she has a 3 yr old tantrum, just to get her to lay in bed. wrong pillows, im hungry, im scared, i cant sleep. after 2 hours of this, she sleeps for about 4 hours and wakes up and crawls in our small queen size bed, and i end up in her bed. She has been doing this since 2.5 and realized Santa, tooth fairy or a lepracon was coming in our house around the holidays. We have tried everything from sleeping herbs, to tough love, counseling. I am considering calling a police personnell to come talk to her (if they would do that) becasue her tantrums are so loud and violent sounding. Any suggestions or input?

Oh my, your daughter is like my son's twin!!! Though my son does not have tantrums, he is likw a night owl prowling about the bedrooms, walking in the dark, doing stuff except going to sleep. Then when it is time for me to get up, he has just begun to get sleepy. Try to avoid taking daytime naps. I shall get back to you after this post...I am a working mom and I just need to do some office errands...

It seems like she is afraid for some reason...maybe bring her to a counselor of some sort if she won't talk to you about why she is afraid to sleep alone.
