what time is bed time?

On school nights, 8- 8:30, because otherwise he won't get up early. On weekends, 9 pm. One thing I've noticed is that if I turn off the TV or a video game at 6:30, he will fall asleep exactly 2 hours later. I think it is a good thing for kids to have a bedtime. It's not just about they getting enough sleep, it is also teaching them a lesson for life. Every action has a consequence. If you go to bed late, you won't be able to wake up early.

I have 4 kids age 7, 3, 2, and 6 months. After tea they have a bath get their pjs on etc and its bed time at 7 then they can sit in bed do homework and read for an hour then lights off at 8. never had a problem really its always been the routine since the first was tiny.

mine go to bed at 8:00 pm Monday Through Friday And on Friday nights they go around 9:30 or 10:00 and Saturdays 10:30 or 11:00 and Sundays 9:00

i have a soon to be 7 year old and a 3 year old i put them to bed at the same time anywhere between 7:30 and 8:30 no later. the 7 year old will set up and play with toys or leapster for another hour or so then off to sleep the 3 year old falls asleep right away just a little cuddle time and off to dream land for most of the night

My 7, 6, and 2yr old goes to bed at 8pm. But that is because we are usually doing something in the evenings and sometimes we don't get home until 8. I wouldn't worry too much about what others are doing. You are doing a good job Momma!

Darius prefers 9pm and normally goes later only if homework is incomplete (the woes of a working mother). But he normally is sleepy annd tired on mornings. At first he used to get up early but then he started severely falling behing. As such we are in the process of changing once again......I'm thinking back too 8-8:30pm latest.

Sleep is soooooo important for kids...this is when the body and mind recuperate from the day and children need this so much. My daughter is 8 now and her bed time is 8 p.m.



She may not fall asleep right away, but she is in bed resting. We are up at 7 a.m. weekdays (she likes to move slow in the mornings lol so we have to get up a little earlier), and 8 year old need around 10 to 11 hours of sleep each night. Weekends I try to have her in bed no later than 10 p.m. as she will sleep in the next day so she is still getting enough sleep.



just a note - I ALWAYS notice a difference in my kid's level of patience and ability to listen and behave when she hasn't had enough sleep.

My 8 year SD at our house goes to bed at 8pm on a school night and for Friday and Saturday nights she goes to bed at 10pm if she is good if she is bad it is 8pm my son goes to bed at 9pm as that is when he is most tired at and he sleeps all night that way and he is awake at 7:30am

Hello,

Both my girls go to bed around the same time... between 8 and 8:30. They are 7 1/2 and 4 1/2. I think the 4 1/2 year old could go to bed earlier, but it's easier to bring them up and do the routine at the same time. That being said, my older daughter will stay up later in her room, while my younger one generally falls asleep quicker. So they actually fall asleep at different times, but both are in bed at the same time. On the weekends, I aim for closer to 8 since we eat dinner earlier than during the week when we are waiting for dad to get home from work. Both girls wake up at 7:30ish for school, my younger wakes up pleasant, my older one is a little tougher to get moving :) Expecting twins in August (surprise for us!) so things will change, but would like to keep the girls on their routine as much as possible.

My daughter (7 years old and in the first grade) has 2 different bed times. On school nights, it is at 9pm. And on weekends it is 10pm.

At our house we have 3 daughters...6, 3, 9 months.



Our 3 year old doesn't nap and cannot make it until 8 pm without a melt down..so she now goes to bed at 630 every night. Our 6 year old gets ready at the same time as our 3 year old but we let her sneak back down stairs until about 745pm-8pm.

I do the same with my 2 girls miss 7 goes at 7.30 miss 3 at 7 and we have had the same concerns as yourslf recently and then we remembered we did this routine because we like our grown up time in the evening and want to ensure the girls get a good sleep prior to pre school and school . Thats not to say that other peoples routines dont work for them but that our routine work for us.

I put all my kids (4,4,7) to bed between 8 -8:30. They all have school in the morning and if they go to bed any later they dont want to get up. If my 7yo is being really good she can stay up 30 mins later then they 4 yos. On Friday and Saturday nights they dont have a bed time unless they are being bad. We just put them to bed when they are getting tired. Hope it helps.
