Asthma issues??

my daughter was diagnosed with asthma early in her life. she is almost 3. she has been on steroids and antibiotics so many times for the same reason but the drs keep treating it the same. atleast once every month she gets really wheezy, coughs alot and gets really flemmy. we have done a broncoscopy on her and determined nothing but a "floppy airwave" from that and did a phprobe to find out if it was acid reflux but its not that either. still no answer as to why she keeps getting so sick. any suggestions??

My son has been on pulmicort for 2 years now,once a day in the "good season",and twice a day during cold and flu season or when his allergies are in a big flair up. pulmicort is a steroid used as a preventative so its best to use it all the time according to my sons doctor. Before taking pulmicort daily my son constantly was getting bronchitis,pnuemonia,ear infections,and just being SICK...kids with asthma are more likely to get sick-but the pulmicort has helped my son ALOT,he hasnt been so no where near as much as what he was before pulmicort. My son also takes singular at night,and albuterol thru the nebulizer as needed,and has a preventil inhaler for emergencies. Hope you can get into a routine that helps reduce your childs illness.

Have they kept her on steroids for a prolonged time? My son has been on pulmicort once a day for almost a yr now and that has really helped him. My son has the floppy airway issue, he has tracheamalacia and bronchomalacia and he has GERD as well. But even with all this, I have found the pulmicort to really help him and when we try to get him off it he starts getting super wheezy and ends up sick it seems.
