I just had my 3 year old tested for allergies. I found out he's allergic to milk, eggs, chocolate, and soybean. I'm looking for other alternatives to offer him to soften the blow of not being able to eat some of his favorite foods. Any suggestions? Thanks moms.

Our biggest challenge with the egg allergy was what to use in sandwiches other than mayo! Our daughter doesn't like mustard either. We use honey mustard or catalina salad dressing for tuna or chicken salad. Applesauce makes a great substitute for egg & oil in cake mixes.

we make cake using gluten free flour, "no egg' replacement, olive oil in place of butter, rice milk in place of milk. coconut oil mixed with icing sugar instead of butter, (don;t add rice milk, goes funny) add fruit to your cooking , eg bananas, apple. whatever is going.

Almond milk, oat milk, and rice milk are all good alternatives for milk. You can also use applesauce for egg when baking. For baking, I often look at the vegan website vegweb.com to get tips and recipes on how to bake without milk and eggs. Carob should be an easy sub for chocolate. I would stick with fruit leathers or gummies for snacks, and crackers... there are some chips out there that are soy free- pop chips are quite yummy! You can make french toast without eggs or dairy by just using vanilla rice milk, sugar, flour, cinnamon, and a loaf of crusty bread- I am able to find one that just contains wheat at my local grocery store- or you can make your own the day before. If you want the recipe, let me know and I can post it. Good luck and happy searching! :)

Carob powder would work for a cocoa powder substitute. It's sold at health food stores. Rice milk for the dairy and soy allergies. And ener g egg replacer or 1-2 T. flaxseed blended up with the liquid in the recipe for the eggs should work. www.funkyfoodallergies.blogspot is also a good resouce for recipes. The lady who writes it has a son who's allergic to corn and a bunch of other things and corn allergies are very similar to soy allergies along the lines of what to elliminate in your diet.
