Find a Natural Food Store or Health Food Store near you.  They have lots of soy alternatives!  Cheese, Mac & Cheese, ice cream, etc...   Most mainline grocery stores will not carry these items.

There is a new brand available in Montana and Connecticut and Florida that is made by Wayfare foods. It is called We Can't say its Cheese (I think!) but it is oat based instead of soy (if you are worried about phytoestrogens) and it is vegan. I don't know where you are based, but thought if you were anywhere near these states, it may be possible for you to try. They have a website- google them and you can see what kinds of cheese they offer. Good luck! We use tofutti for my son and he loves both the white cheese and the yellow cheese. Hope you find something that works! :) I have used the tofutti in mac n cheese, too, by making a white sauce with soymilk then adding the cheese. My son loved it, but I thought it tasted ucky! He fortunately doesn't know any better! :)

Road's End is expensive, but ok. Walmart doesn't yet carry the soy cheese and yogurt. We've never had a problem with Silk soy yogut either. You can get it at Woodman's, Festival, or try a health food store. If the health food store doesnt' carry it, ASK THEM TO and usually within a week they'll have it.

We use Tofutti brand soy cheese. No dairy, comes in slices so the whole block doesn't waste if you don't use it fast enough. Works just fine for grilled cheese. For mac-n-cheese I have a recipe for a fake cheese sauce that tastes pretty good - it uses Nutritional Yeast. If you are interested, let me know and I can post it.

There is, but you have to be really careful, because a lot of them still have milk in them. Always make sure it says vegan on the package. Tofutti has no milk in it and melts really well. There is another brand VEGAN it has no milk in it either but it doesn't really melt....so no good for a grilled cheese. You can find dairy free mac & cheese at the regular grocery store with the natural foods, Road's End makes one called Mac& Chreese...I think it is gross, but my daughter loves it!

I am in Western Australia - we have Soy cheese in Coles Supermarket. It is very expensive and I haven't even tried it coz my kids hate the taste of the soy milk and yoghurt.

I use a brand called Follow Your Heart Vegan Gourmet. They have a cheddar and a mozerella style. I also use Tofutti brand cheese slices. I get them at my local health food store. Tofutti good for grilled cheese. Vegan gourmet good for mc-n-cheese and pizza
