My daughter was playing with a peach that we picked up at a local farm stand the other day. After about a minute she broke out with a blotchy rash on her arms and neck that was extremely itchy. She has eaten peaches before and it has never been a problem. I did a search on the internet and saw that it is possible to just be allergic to the skin. Anyone know/have any experience with this?

If not pesticides then please look at BIRCH trees and the various fruits/veggies one can be allergic to as a result. Especially the skins of uncooked... that was our first indication that our son was allergic to birch trees, an (otherwise) innocuous apple that had him itchy and hive-covered at the age of 4. Peaches are pollinated at the same time as birch trees (as are apples, cherries, almonds, carrots, ...) -- leading to something called "Oral Allergy Syndrome" in most, but which led to full-blown allergies to all these things in my son...

Never heard of it- I would also wonder about any pesticides on it (just a thought). Good luck and let us know if you find anything out! :)
