My son is 17 months. He is taking Nutramigen now. He is allergic to milk and doesn't tolerate other milks over the counter. The doctors are telling me that he is outgrowing Nutramigen. I was wondering if what comes next and if anyone else has had the same problem? They said something about Pediasure Peptide formula.

My son turning 2yrs already, were still using Nutramigen, thats the only milk he has since a 1mo since his allergic to soy, and milk.. soo concerned about the nutrition his getting its just up to 1yr, here in Philippines no such thing as nutramigen for toddler, hopefully meadjohnsons philipppines will have it,.

We never had to go the route of Neocate. I know when expense is an issue, as I thought Nutramigen was quite expensive for two years, I tried to remember that it was a short term investment for the long term outcome. Also, in regard to staying on something until their 2, everyone has an opinion. We are the moms... go with your gut sometimes especially when you know it is helping your child. Good luck!

My son started Neocate Splash drinks around that time they are high in calories and hypoallergenic.... kinda expensive. we have been on them for over a year.

Elecare makes a child drink that is comprable to milk. My son was on elecare formula when he was a baby and it worked great (he is ana to milk/peanuts/treenuts/wheat/eggs and allergic to soy and many others)

Thank you Daniella for your response! So your doctor said it was ok for them to take until they were 2? Our GI doctor told us that we need to try and find something with more calories. I guess maybe because he was having problems gaining weight. And he is still on the bottom of the charts. We have tried soy, rice, coconut, almond and one more that I can't think of right now. They have all gave him digestion issues. Nutramigen is the only thing he has been able to tolerate. Thank you again for your response!

My son used Nutramigen until he was 2 because he was allergic to milk and soy. I don't know about anything besides that. We also used rice milk. At two, he outgrew his soy allergy which really helped things, mentally and financially!
