Anyone pregnant?

Hello everyone I am new to all this. I just found out that I am pregnant with baby # 3 and I'm a liitle worried. I have a 3 year old daughter and she was born 8 wks early with gastroschisis. As many of you know it is a very scary journey to go through. My daughter is now absolutley healthy, thank god! It was a rough few months after her birth and she was in th NICU for over 90 days. I am wondering are there any mothers out there who have had babies after having a gastro baby... Did you have a normal pregancy? I am afraid that it will happen again even though the doctors say the chances are very slim. Any information would be very helpful! Thanks!

I found out about Hannah's Gastro at 19 weeks, and couldn't see a specialist til nearly 23 weeks. Its hard and emotional. Please check out Hannah's story on youtube called Hannah's Gastroschisis Story. I'm here if you need to talk, I know what you mean about going insane. The next few months aren't going to be any easier. Just a heads up, when you see your specialist they will talk to you about a termination.
Hannah spent 6 1/2 weeks in hospital, she was born at 34 weeks due to placental insuffiency.
Gastro babies are also small, even in the womb.
Chromosomal abnormality may come up as well. Chances of bub having that?? Very small.
They will also offer an amnio, which is putting a needle into your womb and drawing fluid out.

I found out yesterday that my baby girl has Gastroschisis. Right now I am 20 weeks pregnant and in desperate need of answers. My fiance and I can not even meet with our specialist for another couple of weeks, and I am going completely insane. Any information will help me. Does anyone know of any good informational websites? Good books? Life stories? ANYTHING at all that can help me through this tough time...

I greatly appreciate everything.

i am currently 30 weeks pregnant...and i have weekly ultrasounds, they suggested an amnio, but i sed no due to the risks. as of january 27, when i was six months, my baby was a pound and a half.

We are trying for a second after having a gastroschisis baby the first time around. But with my first one I had an appointment every week after finding out about he gastroschisis. I was in Germany and they moniter very closley. I would not reccomend the amnio at all the risks are too great. It will only tell you if there are any other problems, but they cannot do anything about the problems a head of time, so there really is no point in ,knowing if it may put you baby in danger. That is the way I looked at it.

my first son had gastroschisis i had monthly unltra sounds until i believe 2 months before his due date and then had weekly ones until they delivered him (planed c/s) at 37 weeks. They did do an amnio the day before just to double check that his lungs were developed enough to be born.

BTW my OB told me that he always guessed the weight of babies + or - 3 pounds. lol my son was born 7 pounds 6 oz.

I am not pregnant but when I was I had monthly ultra sounds then every other week then weekly... Tyler was born at 35 weeks 5 days before my scheduled c-section and he was almost 8 pounds.. .I also had the amnio and I was scared but it didn't hurt and i was just careful to stay off my feet that day... Hope all is well
