I am currently 35 weeks pregnant and my baby boy has been diagnosed with tof and a vsd. We are devastated and don't know what to expect. I have had an amniocentesis which came back normal. Does anyone know how likely it will be for our little one to have any other chromosome defects? We have been advised he will not need surgery until 6 months is this the normal time scale? Any advise would be great. Thanks x

My daughter is having surgery to replace her pulmonary arteries and the conduit coming from her pulmonary valve to the arteries on Oct. 29. I could not believe it when the Dr. said that if everything goes perfectly, that she will only be in the hospital for 4 to 5 days. He said that is because she is otherwise healthy this time. And the really good news was that since they are replacing the conduit also this time, then her next surgery may not have to be done until she is about 4 or 5. Please keep her in your prayers, we need all we can get. Thanks.

My son has this problem. He is 5 and a half months old. He is going to have surgery sometime next month. We have lucked out so far though and he hasn't had any tet spells yet. He sees a great Dr in Albany and will be going to Albany Medical Center for the surgery. Good luck to all the moms who have kids with this problem!!!! And good luck to those whose children are headed to surgery soon!

My 13 month old daughter has tetrology of fallot. She had her first surgery at 4 days old and has had 3 heart cath, with the last one just being this past tuesday. I was told tuesday that she is going to have to surgery again within the next month or two. She has three stents but there is too much pressure in her pulmonary arteries to stent again or balloon. They are also going to replace the conduit the put in on the first surgery.
