Her psoriasis started last year and covered 90% of her body, it lasted about 8 months and eventually cleared up leaving white skin patches. It returned about 5 week's ago mainly to her face which is covered in white/red hard crusty patches. My heart breaks for her but she is so brave explaining to other children what it is and what causes it. I have been using steroid cream which didn't really help last time and it did make a difference for the week i was using it but the psoriasis has returned just as bad after only a couple of days. I am fed up with doctor's as the only doctor who gave me good advice and a better knowledge of the condition cost 150 quid for 15 minutes! Has anybody got any advice?

Are you willing to let your child to try Traditional Chinese medicine? Traditional Chinese medicine has a history of 5000 years. An excellent Traditional Chinese hospital named DuoSuccess is founded in the network (http://www.Duosuccess.com/tcm/index.htm). In this hospital (eg. website), all diseases can be treated (no matter cold, cancer or AIDS), all patients can get treatment (no matter poor or rich), and all prescriptions have been publicly released on the website.

Hi, my son also has psoriasis, I also have been to many doctors and recently took him to a derm that did not help much we have no insurance the meds they were giving me for him were 420, and 600.... I joined this other group https://www.inspire.com just to find out and learn more about P and it gives you hope.. I have found that glycerin a bottle for like 5 bucks helps.. check it out i'm still a newbie so I am learning as i go.. It brakes my heart just to see my son, how this is affecting him... he came home this past Friday telling us that this little girl gave a high five to this boy and everyone else and when it came his turn she says to him yukkk not you.. OMG I just saw him with his watery eyes and my heart just broke.. I tried so hard to hold my tears back to let him not see me... what do I say to him at that moment, he is only 11 yrs old...Good luck and I hope all goes well for your daughter..

I have found more help from the site www.psoriasispatients.com as I have it too.

Talk to your specialist. This kid needs more guidance than just cortizone. I have it too. I can tell you the pill DHA supplements I took during pregancy I still take. It helps. I have to stay away from all perfumes & fabric softner with scents. Aveno 24 hour lotion recently has really helped me to stop itching. Be careful with the cortizone on her face. She could rub it in her eyes.. I pray for a cure for all of us suffering.

I almost forgot....anything with Coal Tar in it helps. MG217 is a great brand to look for. It's over the counter.

Myself & my son, who is 20 now is affected with psoriasis. When I have a flair up, I usually lay in the tanning bed. My son has also did this as a last resort. Your daughter is very young so of course I would not recommend this. My son has had really good luck with injections of Humira. I'm not sure what the age group is for this, but it has worked wonders for him. But it is also an injection, so I'm not sure how you or your daughter would feel about this. Because of our income, we received the shots free. You can get more information by calling "Abbott Patient Assistance Foundation" (HUMIRA). It is located in California the toll free number is 800-222-6885.

Hope this helps,

My 5 month old baby has eczema and I've been putting a spoonful of baking soda in his bath water (small little tub). It leaves his skin soft and it's now completely gone from his legs.

Give this a try... www.jsemuoil.com
I use this stuff on my daughter, it's great! She has pretty bad eczema and I've heard the Emu Oil works on psoriasis too.

My youngest grandson had a terrible skin problem when he was small. The lady I buy a lotion called Bella Balm from said the person who developed this lotion's wife used it for eczema and healed it. I had a patch on my back that was thickened and dry and I used it and it's now smooth and doesn't itch. We used this lotion on my grandson skin and his eczema healed also. I can't promise it will work but the lotion is wonderful. I will tell you it says hand and foot lotion on the tube, however, it's lotion and it takes just a small amount and rubs in really well. The company who sells this lotion is called Mia Bella if you want to look into it. Best of luck to you and your daughter. I know skin disorders can be very embarrassing for children. My 13 year old grandson has vitaligo and some kids have made fun of him to the point that when we went to the beach the last time a boy made fun of him and my grandson wouldn't go out to the pool again. Again, good luck to you.

do you use dietary supplements for your daughter? There should be huge amount of essential fatty acids in her diet. The best ones are in the linen oil and whole fish sardines oil. We try to give our daughter these every two days and her skin and immunity is much better. It starts working after 3 weeks of supplementation so you need to be patient. But it's essential dietary ingredient so you should give it to your girl anyway. Apart of that she should be given vitamin E, zinc, biotin and selenium.

And try cosmeics with >20% UREA they are quite effective.

I haven't found Steroids to be very effective in the long term. Bath salts (dead sea or Epsom) have proven to be the most helpful for us with Eczema. I don't know if it would help psoriasis but its worth a try maybe.

I have heard of people using coal tar and phototherapy as well but i think coal tar is carcinogenic.
