Hi, my son also has psoriasis, I also have been to many doctors and recently took him to a derm that did not help much we have no insurance the meds they were giving me for him were 420, and 600.... I joined this other group https://www.inspire.com just to find out and learn more about P and it gives you hope.. Talk to your specialist. This kid needs more guidance than just cortizone. I have it too. I can tell you the pill DHA supplements I took during pregancy I still take. It helps. I have to stay away from all perfumes & fabric softner with scents. Aveno 24 hour lotion recently has really helped me to stop itching. Be careful with the cortizone on her face. She could rub it in her eyes.. I pray for a cure for all of us suffering.

I almost forgot....anything with Coal Tar in it helps. MG217 is a great brand to look for. It's over the counter.

Myself & my son, who is 20 now is affected with psoriasis. When I have a flair up, I usually lay in the tanning bed. My son has also did this as a last resort. Your daughter is very young so of course I would not recommend this. My son has had really good luck with injections of Humira. I'm not sure what the age group is for this, but it has worked wonders for him. But it is also an injection, so I'm not sure how you or your daughter would feel about this. My 5 month old baby has eczema and I've been putting a spoonful of baking soda in his bath water (small little tub). It leaves his skin soft and it's now completely gone from his legs.

My youngest grandson had a terrible skin problem when he was small. The lady I buy a lotion called Bella Balm from said the person who developed this lotion's wife used it for eczema and healed it. I had a patch on my back that was thickened and dry and I used it and it's now smooth and doesn't itch. We used this lotion on my grandson skin and his eczema healed also. I can't promise it will work but the lotion is wonderful. I will tell you it says hand and foot lotion on the tube, however, it's lotion and it takes just a small amount and rubs in really well. do you use dietary supplements for your daughter? There should be huge amount of essential fatty acids in her diet. The best ones are in the linen oil and whole fish sardines oil. We try to give our daughter these every two days and her skin and immunity is much better. It starts working after 3 weeks of supplementation so you need to be patient. But it's essential dietary ingredient so you should give it to your girl anyway. Apart of that she should be given vitamin E, zinc, biotin and selenium.

And try cosmeics with >20% UREA they are quite effective.

I haven't found Steroids to be very effective in the long term. Bath salts (dead sea or Epsom) have proven to be the most helpful for us with Eczema. I don't know if it would help psoriasis but its worth a try maybe.

I have heard of people using coal tar and phototherapy as well but i think coal tar is carcinogenic.
