Hi Amita,
Have the skin specialists given him an allergy test? It'd help to at least have an idea of what's triggering the flare-ups and make it more manageable. There are skin prick test and blood tests, and there are some preparation for the skin prick test, for instance, not taking antihistamine about 3-5 days before the test and having at least a patch of clear skin for the test result. I've interviewed a dermatologist, and you can refer to below for his reply on the various allergy tests, take care!

I have some samples of this lotion that I know works for my son and has helped so many others. If you'd like, I can send you a sample just so you can try and see if it works for yours. LMK if I can be of any help. I'm happy to do so.

My 19 month old son has been fighting with atopic dermititis (eczema ) since he was 5 months old.Initially he had it on his one cheek ,then it started on the other and now he has it on his elbow, leg ,on his nipple and ears.He scratches alot .We have seen a number of dermitologists and skin specialists , but hasnt helped so far.I am not able to see his cheeks become cherry red and scratching his body badly.Tears run down my eyes when i see him suffer and even though he cant tell me, his eyes tell me 'mommy do something, plz help me' :( Have tried so many lotions and creams but its getting worse.
Can someone help me to help my son???

My son's eczema showed up right when the weather started turning cold. I noticed dry patches on his chest and elbows. At first I tried Aveeno...my pediatrician said no matter what you use, you have 3 minutes after a bath to get a moisturizer on. Otherwise, it is not effective. Needless to say, the Aveeno didn't work. But I am partnered with a wellness company that has the most amazing lotion and it has worked wonders called Renew. I use it daily and he has no signs of eczema at all! (and it started working after the first use) Better than Eucerin and Cetaphyl too. A number of my friends have used it on their children and selves as well.

good point. allergies go hand and hand with eczema. oral allergy medications can help. as always ask your doctor first. your doctor is the only person with your child's medical history and the education to advise what is best for your child and what may harm your child.

Hi Lauren!

The causes of eczema are multi-factorial, so it's hard to find a one cause- generally, there's defective skin barrier, allowing for penetration and the immune response is over-active to attacking the skin.

The triggers however are easier to identify, via allergy testing, food challenges and observing. Eczema comes and goes, so don't be disheartened by changes. Not all the time is food, other common triggers could be house dust mites, pet dander, weather, sweat.

It's really hard to think of triggers because everyone has varied, an allergy test is a good start to find out dear.

take care,

-anything with perfumes or dyes that he may come in contact with (soaps, clothing detergents, carpet cleaners, lotion, baby wipes, etc.)
-long hot baths are bad, try luke warm water and bath every other day
-try curel itch defense, or aveeno eczema lotions
-don't let him get dehydrated or eat any foods that may cause dryer skin. look at every ingredient
-use a humidifier and a thermometer that gives a humidity reading (40%-50% works for us)
-the infections are because when a breakout gets really bad it becomes an open wound and should be treated like one. use neosporin or any other antibiotic ointment and keep it clean

Hi,

I am sorry that your little one is going through this, but I am happy to say that I can help:)

My 6month old had excema and had a horrible case of cradle cap, i used this remedy on her and on my psoriasis as well and it is gone! so take a look at the site, and I know that it will work for him, all natural and perfect for delicate skin.

Bathe in aloe Gelee

Follow with Aloe activator

then lather in aloe propolis cream.

These products are amazing all of them in fact, but the 3 above will control and get rid of the the excema. You may also want to give him 2oz of the aloe bits n peaches. Great for him! and will help control his allergies.

I am not a dr, but a believer in these products. LEt me know if you have any questions or want more information. Good luck!
