I am the grandmother of 3 ages 14, 12, & 2, all have same mom but 2 year old has different father. 12 yr old has celiac disease and is doing great. I keep the 2 yr old while mom & dad are at work and for the last 2 months she has had a lot of tummy troubles. She has had blood tests for celiac markers, 2 were neg 1 postive,an endoscope and biopsies for celiac all neg. She has all but stopped eating solid food for a month now & is getting her nutrition from pedicure shakes. Last night she had projectile vomiting, severe stomach pain, and had a green/ yellow cast to her. Mom & Dad took her to ER, blood work was all fine, external stomach exam showed tenderness and distention, x rays of the adomen showed no blockage, but air pockets in the region. Dr gave her med for vomiting some IV fluids and send them home. In some ways she presents symptoms of celiac same as her sister did, but not in other ways. The only pediatric GI doctor here we don't like so my daughter is waiting for one who is opening practice May 1st. I am at my wits end and can not really find anything helpful about those air pockets. Any ideas on this would be greatly appreciated

My daughter projectile vomited when she would drink Pediasure. Has the child been checked out for soy/milk allergies or intolerance? I started Pediasure because my daughter (now 14 mo) was losing weight from being sick all the time. About a week after I started her on Pediasure she would vomit every night. She would cough a lot before it happened so I figured that she vomited due to the cough. I took her into the allergist because I had finally hit my breaking point and she tested positive for soy, peanut, & egg allergies. He also told me to stay away from milk because he thinks she might be intolerant. A formula you might want to look at is Elecare or rice milk. I would also consult a pediatric allergist (along with the pediatric GI specialist) to see if they can do some testing. There is nothing worse than seeing your child (or grandchild) sick, miserable, and in pain and feeling helpless. Good luck and I hope you get some answers!!!
