How do you make up the fat their suppose to get from Whole milk with soy or Hemp milk?? We just started weaning our 11 month old to soy milk off Nutrigamen. The soy milk we're using is organic and fortified with 5% fat per cup compaired to the 8% I saw on a carton of whole milk. Do I need to work about the 3 % we're missing??

I wouldn't worry, most pediatricians at this point say not to wean onto whole milk, anyway! Ours told us 2% cows milk was fine, but my son is now allergic to it and drinks soy milk, my daughter was weaned to soy milk at 15 months because of her vomiting when drinking cow milk, and she's perfectly healthy and happy now! Though still a burp machine. Good luck. :)

I asked my Doc about that, she said not to worry about it, just make sure your not getting lowfat soy, and it is ok.
