For those of you with kids with the multiple allergies, there's a great recipe book called the Kid-Friendly Allergy Food Cookbook. My daughter, so far, is allergic to dairy and bananas. She's still sick, so I'm going to have her tested at her one-year checkup. Bananas are a hard thing to avoid when it comes to jarred baby food.

I went through the same thing with my 1 yr old. I took her to the hos. and had her amitted. I told them not to let her out until they found the problem. It worked. She has a dairy and soy allergy. It was causing her so much pain. We changed her diet and now drinks rice milk. I had a happy baby for the first time since she was born. Just keep strong and fight for your baby. You are her best doctor!

My son is allergic to what would seem to be everything. Whole foods has really helped. He is allergic to wheat, milk, egg, soy, oat, all nuts, all sea fish, barley, etc. I went to his pediatrician and I told him that I wanted a series of blood test and was not leaving until that happened. We have had some set backs but we have got my son, almost 2 years old, off formula and he drinks Rice milk now. Its all a matter of reading labels. Once we found something we like and he could eat that was it. It was only the grocery list. Also, they are numerous web sites for food allergies. For example, eggfree.com has many egg free ideas for example sugar cookies. Also, a lot of the problem is that food is cross contaminated with the Big 8 allergens from the processing plants. I make a lot of my sons lunches. He went to day care for a month and everyday i felt like i was repeating myself and found myself calling to check that he was still alive 3x a day. So now he goes to a baby sitter who understands and keeps a list of what he can and cannot eat. So it has worked out. let me know if you want some of the tests or even some of the websites. ttyl!

I hate to say it this way but just keep trying. Sometimes it takes time to get it all figured out. My son had to sleep up at an angle or he would spit up all his bottle. yucky mess. It took about a year and 4 different formulas and "milks" to find out he has multiple food allergies. Milk and soy being 2 of them.  Watch the ingredients for vitamins and protiens. My son is on rice milk but I have to suppliment with a vitamin and really push protiens on him. Allergic to peanuts too. Just stick to your guns and push to see an allergist. The dr.s will listen eventually.  Good luck.

Hi!  My little girl is allergic to milk and eggs.  She was on soy formula from 2 weeks old.  When she was around 1 year, she was vomiting at least twice a week, had colds all the time that always turned into ear infections, and her skin was completely broken out and dry.  We took her to Children's for a food allergy test.  That is when we found out about the milk and eggs.  We suspected the milk, but had no idea about the eggs.  We had to completely eliminate it from her diet (even non-fat dry milk) and milk and eggs are in everything!  Once we did that, she didn't have another cold for two years!  She is 3 and 1/2 now and drinks soy milk, eats soy ice cream and yogurt.  We substitute in our cooking and I have lots of great recipes for cake, waffles, etc.  But, I definitely reccommend finding out what it is for sure.  All it takes is about 5 minutes and a vile of blood.  Good luck and let me know if you need those recipes!

You may want to consider finding a good pediatric allergist. They can advise you on which tests to perform so you can get to the bottom of her misery. She may have allergies that are seasonal, environmental, food related or all of the above. I remember well how frustrating this road can be. Don't give up. Once you have your answers, you will be so glad you did. Good luck!

Take her to see an allergist or a GI. It could be more then just a milk allergy.
