I know alot of people make cakes for their kids on their birthday but do you do the same for your husbands/partners???

This year I am making a cake in the shape of a license plate (I have bought him personalised plates for his motorbike) with his name and age on it.

Amy- my husbands birthday is Feb 12 and my daughters is Feb 24. It looks pretty cool and hopefully easy. I got the Wilton brand one because I can usually get their stuff to turn out better.

I bake cakes for both my kids, and even my dad.. but my husband gets a fancy store bought one. Of course this is ONLY because he doesn't like my baking!!! How rude! ;o)

My hubby's a chef, so I never get to make my kids cakes as he's always doing something daft. He just made a quidditch pitch cake complete with people flying on broomsticks for our friends kid. I never get a cake and neither does he. His birthday is 12 dec, so he's always too busy at work for a celebration anyway.

I do but my husband is a chef by trade so store bought cakes would be rubbish to him.

Plus it's an extra thoughtful gesture to him when someone else cooks for him since he cooks for others all the time.

I always get a b-day cake too..It’s sad that some of you don't :( I think Birthdays should always mean cake regardless of whose b-day it is.

Yes....If by "make" you mean drive to the bakery and order one.

Dh usually buys me a cake on my birthday too. He is really big into these celebrations, more so than me, but I'm getting better at it :)

That's because we are the moms. If we want a cake we have to make it or buy it ourselves.

No I never have. I have a friend that owns her own cake business and she's AMAZING so I always order all of our cakes from her. Sounds like a cool cake Amanda :)

Michelle-when is his birthday? My son's birthday party is Feb 5th, we're doing cupcakes in ice cream cones for his friends but I wanted to buy one of those gigantic cup cakes for my son!

Amanda I do make a cake for my husband, it's a generic cake nothing fancy, he makes one for me on my birthday, but we really do it more for the kids then for each other.

I do make my husband a cake every year. Just making one of those giant cupcake ones this year because I just bought the pan and he gets to be my guinea pig. I'd feel bad about using him to experiment (because I'm really trying to get it figured out before my daughters birthday a couple weeks later) but I figure he never makes or buys one for me for my birthday so he can live with being my experiment. I always find a way to make it into something he will like. I probably won't be doing the pink lemonade cake though. He might catch on to my scheme if I do that.
