I was wondering if you read novels regularly? If so got any to suggest?

Right now I am reading mostly Amish fiction, I am enjoying reading about the simpler life.

I am currently reading my favorite author: Laurell K. Hamilton. she is freakin amazing IMO!!! She has two series and a few independent books.. Her best series is anita blake vampire hunter, believe me it is like the perfect combo of sex, violence, mystery, thriller!! If they made a tv show or movie it would either be really dull or have to be rated like XXX for violence and sex lol... then there is the merry gentry series and its a series about fairies along the same line but totally different!! at our half priced books they are under the sci-fi, fantasy, or horror section lol!! Charlaine Harris is pretty good and its a lot lighter than the other. True blood the tv show based on her books from what i have seen (like 4-6 episodes of first season) is nothing like the books.. the books are better!!
I can't wait until gavin is old enough to read him the harry potter books!! i love harry potter and can't wait to see the movie!!!! those books are a whole lot better than the movie but the movie isn't bad lol!

What type of books are you interested in? I like Robin Cook who writes medical conspiracy fiction. There is the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series. There is a series called The Magickers which is similar to Harry Potter. I just got done reading a sci-fi series that starts with the book Rendezvous with Rama. If you like fantasy, Terry Brooks Landover series is really good. Tony Hillerman writes crime novels set on Indian reservations. The classics are good too like War of the Worlds, Dracula, Frankenstein. A Clockwork Orange is good but disturbing, so is 1984. If you like sci-fi and humor, A Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy is funny, but you have to read it in a British accent. Anything in particular you are interested in. I LOVE to read all types of genres and have a lot more suggestions. You should see the number of books that I have picked up at yard sales just waiting for room to have enough bookcases to put them all out.

BTW I didn't use quotation marks for the books and it's going to bug me for days, but it seemed like too much work and I'm being lazy.

I wish. I've been reading Toddler Taming and other parenting books recently. So boring.

I am a crime kinda person. John Grisham is my favorite fiction author, but he has one nonfiction called the Innocent Man. It is a wonderful but horriable story.

Reading is hard for me. I get things mixed up. I misunderstand a lot of things. It is just how my brain works. It is a real struggle.

Yea, it seems to me that alot of the parenting books are wrote by people who aren't even parents. One thing I have learned there is no blanket answer to raising kids, and alot of books make out like there is.

I did the Love and Logic workshop they had at the school this year, picked up some good things to use. I do think even experienced parents if they are open can learn new things :D

Cool :) I've found one parenting book impicticular (Love and Logic Magic for Early Childhood) to be super helpful. I'm not big on books telling me how to raise our son but toddler tantrums can be hard to handle when you’re a first time parent :)

I read to our son everyday but don't read myself too often. The last book I read was a parenting book.
