Ok, so I let my daughter watch EDUCATIONAL things and mother constantly harps on me about it. Maybe an hour or so, maybe two. How long is too long? In a day?

We have the tv on all day... My sons sit only if something they love comes on.

An hour or two a day is fine imo. I think more than a couple of hours is too much when it comes to my child. He would never sit there and watch tv for more than 2 hours anyway.

There is always something on at our house as i hate the silence of the suburbs, so need white noise which is what our tv mainly dose,
My kids are outside in the garden most of the time so not actually watching the tv even though its on 24/7

When she is really sick, yes. But otherwise no. About a 1/2 hour every week day morning. Nothing on the weekends. Although we often put on the news while making dinner. She's in the room but busy playing. I've heard it's bad for them, but meh, I'm not that concerned.

But yeah like the others... whether he watches or not is a different story. Half the time he gets bored and goes off to play in another room.

Sometimes he watches a fair bit in a day sometimes none. It balances itself out.

We don't have cable, so mine only watch movies. They watch maybe two to three hours a week. I have to confess, sometimes I wish I could sit them in front of the tv more, but glad I don't have the option. I really hate most of the new cartoons!

our tv is on most of the day, whether the kids watch or not is a different story but they like it on in the background when they play.
I am guilty of putting it on and sitting them in front of when I have stuff to do if they won't play nicely together

Yes they do watch too much tv. We mostly try to keep at a half an hour in the morning and a half an hour before bed. But there are plenty of times when I have to do something and letting them watch tv is the only way I can get it done and still have 3 living kids at the end. It's bad some days. There just isn't enough of mommy to go around sometimes.

We definitely have the tv on too much in our house, it's always on. It's not necessarily always on a kids show sometimes I get to control the remote. It's not like we're glued to it 24/7 we still do fun things but the background noise is always there.

There is always a movie on in my house. We don't have cable, so movies it is. My daughter will sit down for a bit to watch and then take off to her room to play, then come back to the tv for a few minutes, and on and on. I really have no idea if she watches too much tv, because I rarely catch her watching for more than 15 minutes at a time. Except when we get a new movie, then she'll park it for the whole duration.
