They don't know or understand how good & POWERFUL our God is but I hate knowing that their ignorance will eventually become their demise.

(Wow..really!!)

I would say : You seem to be very passionate about your beliefs. I respect that.

plain and simple whether i think the same way or not i really wasnt offended in the way she made her statement. She clearly said that she was saying something that was a fact about herself. So she is being honest about herself, I take no offense to that.

I would just pray that she comes to find out how wonderful God is, you can't push to hard or it will turn them off even more. Good luck

I would say to her to stop Bible pushing GOD doesn't discriminate My father is Atheist and mother Seventh Day Adventist, I was raised similarly to Tara Hibbert I had the option to choose what it was I believed in and whether or not I wished to attend church I have attended Catholic Churches, Mormon Churches, But I have many beliefs I believe god exists but I also have friends who don't believe in god I think every person should have the choice to what they believe in I have a strong interest in Buddhism but still have faith in God it's controversial I know haha a walking contradiction.

oh gosh. well, that would just really upset people who dont follow that religion wouldnt it?? i was raised catholic, and currently do not practise any religion. Its hard to have faith in a religion, when a catholic school did nothing to protect me when i asked for help - the religios studies teacher's son, who was in my class, used to hit me, and one of his friends described exactly what sort of gun and bullet he was going to use to kill me with. and the reaction of these deeply religious people? "oh well."

My sons will grow to know our families religions, but will never be forced to fololow any particular religion. it is their choice.

I agree with Tara, and pity this woman because she may be limiting herself because of her beliefs

I think most atheists/agnostics have made their decision based on a lot of things and NOT out of ignorance. I honestly don't think anyone could say anything to this woman that would change her current narrow worldview.

I think this lady is using her choice of religion as a hammer against others and is seriously judgmental.

That said, I was raised "multi-faith" I guess you would say - my parents raised me to respect all other religious beliefs, encouraged me to read any holy books from other religions and attend services from other religions so that I could make my own choices regarding what I wanted to believe. I have read both old and new testament versions of the bible, some of the Koran, etc (I currently own a King James' version of the Bible that I do still read). I have been to services for Jewish, Catholic, Baptist, Mormon, 7th Day Adventist, Baha'i, Jehovah's Witness, etc.

Currently, both my husband and I are agnostic by choice. He was raised Protestant, but didn't like how "exclusionary" some churches are getting.

We talked about it and made the choice to raise our girls similarly to how I was raised - let them look into all religions they feel draw them and make an informed choice on their own.

In a way I feel really bad for people like this woman because they seem to have so little tolerance/knowledge of anything outside their spectrum of belief.

@Amber.

You hit it right on the nose. I cant name one person other than my uncle who is a pastor, that has actually read through the bible to undgerstand it and also be open to other religions or beliefs. My sister actually told me once that because im agnostic im going to hell and taking my kids with me because i was a "satinist".... I just laughed and walked away.

I choose to think for myself regardless of how I was raised and form my own opinions... and I also educate myself very much on this because in part to being agnostic im also an evolutionist. (and no i dont believe humans "came from" monkeys, I believe we are in some form related). I look at all the facts behind evolution thats why i so strongly believe it. Anyway, if my forming my own opinions on the facts I have in front of me is ignorant then so be it. Damn me for thinking for myself right. :P

I also teach my oldest to do the same, he believes in god but he listens to other possibilities.

I would just say that everyone is welcome to their own opinion, that's what makes humans special. We can think for ourselves and make our own choices.
Then I would walk away :-)

LOL LOL LOL LOLAPALOOZA. That's what I would say. I can't be bothered arguing with people about that sort of thing, they will continue believing they're right and that what they've said is totally non offensive and justified.

Well if she truly desires to 'save souls'. Wouldn't she realize you catch more bees with honey?

It seems like it's more of an attempt to ruffle feathers and air some flatulence.

And I'd feel exactly the same way if it was someone spewing some anti-religious spiel on FB. I don't care if people want to post things about their own belief in god or post praisings to their god. But the moment someone crosses the line an attacks people for their belief or non-belief... it becomes extremely tacky and rude on FB.

Exactly like you said Monique, FB is where our family and friends are... why would you make comments that would offend them or be downright disrespectful to them?

Its annoying to me because I don’t go posting anti-religious things on my page that have a negative undertone…I very well could but I am aware that I have religious FB friends and family…so I don’t (OUT OF RESPECT)

See, to me it's sort of like the crazy homeless guy with the cardboard sign yelling at random pedestrians: "The end is NIGH. Repent!"

I really just can't take it seriously...

I'd tell her to save her prayers because obviously we're stupid and don't care so she'd be better off hmm standing outside a strip club trying to convert evil boobie viewers

I would say that it seems she's deemed ignorance on people that she knows nothing about. CHOOSING to believe something doesn't exist, after examining all of the evidence, doesn't make you ignorant!!
Choosing to believe something because it's how you've been raised, without exploring other options, IS ignorant.

I haven't met many religious people who have explored outside their own religion (including atheist or agnostic), but I have met many atheists who have explored multiple religions.

While I understand that her heart *might* be in the right place, she seems very arrogant and it's disrespectful the way that she is presenting it.
