So unfor in the middle of the night a few weeks ago I spilled water on my lovely blackberry. Sighs. It finally went completely crazy. It types "s" when it shouldnt, it also is now enjoying calling people when I am not even near the phone.

So I was looking into buying a used blackberry and called my cell company to ask how much a Sim card would cost me as my old blackberry does not have one.

The sales person of course informed me that I am able to get an upgrade on my phone and enter a new contract early. Now I dont want advice on contracts I very well understand the crappy parts of being stuck in a contract.

So my question to you ladies is what are the pros and cons between a blackberry and an Iphone.

Iphone users please tell me your fav parts of your phones and what you dislike the most out of it. Also what your avg use of your data plans are, and what you normally do on your phone to use up your data plans.

I have insurance on my phone that I pay an extra $5 a month for. Because I'm that bad with phones.

when my family member dropped their phone in the hot tub, i believe he paid 60 dollars to damage it out sent him another "blackberry" and that was the end of all that. but if your eligible for upgrade do it! I love the Android only because there are more varietys of FREE FUN apps. even my nearly 2 yr old DD plays the games on my phone (bowling, ski ball etc)

Yeah in my house already we have I touchs, and an Iphone my hubby bought to crack, but found out it wasnt able to be cracked LOL. Silly man should speak to his geek wife first before he does things. So I do know that use is easy, as the 3 year old has been using Itouchs since she was 2 1/2.

The plan that was offered to me was 6 Gigs free, I just wanna make sure its enough. I dont want some surpise huge first bill. For my blackberry I only ever used the net to look up directions and of course my emails came in. I only used around 100 mbs per month. Do applications like facebook use up data on iphones? These applications dont on BB.. twitter, facebook, BBM (so i wonder if the new iphone like BBM does?), yahoo, msn, weathernetwork

I love my iphone! I use it all the time, I compare prices when I'm out shopping, I use it to get on the internet whenever I need something but don't feel like using my laptop. I have a lot of apps that I love to use because they make my life easier. As far as ease of use my now 5 year old has been able to use it for 2 years. I'm running out the door to work so I'll check on my plan for you and data usage when I get the kids in bed later!

I've never had a blackberry so I can't compare the two.

I mainly use my phone for facebook, txt messages, and use to use it for BBM (which clearly I wont have on Iphone). I dont take photos with my blackberry because the cam is just garbage. I dont often make phone calls with my cell phone. I am not much for games, though I guess at home on WIFI I just might dl some games and play them.

I also have that insurance Katherine, but read your find print, almost no damage is actually covered by it. Esp water damage. Nor does dropping it, only normal use damage works. Ie your phone suddenly wont boot.

I don't have an iPhone. I used to have a blackberry. I actually have an android. I guess what you should get depends on your usage. I find the android far more useful to me then the blackberry. I suspect if you're a person that uses a lot of Internet/ email on the phone an iPhone is maybe better. Blackberry is most compatible with a lot of business computing type of needs. So it just depends on what you use it for.
