Phone ringing. How many times a day???

Don't that just drive you nuts. I had moved around a bit so I had it happen more often than not. The worst was the last move in DC. Not only did the school call all day, but who ever had the number was in serious debt to everyone...they called constantly looking for her and like you when I said this is a new number, gave my full name and address even, they did not believe me. I got so fed up I just would disconnect from the wall my land line and use my cell.

We must have got a recently disconnected number too when we moved here because some chick kept ringing every week to ask for "Jamie' for months. She must have thought we were lying when we said no jamies live here and to not call again (after the 5th time, it was the same girl).

The do not call list....

That have that in the states and in NL

I did it here in NL and got rid of them with in a year. They do not call anymore.

In the states even thought they have a similar law many just break it, So I had a private number I paid for. Also they recyle numbers like crap. Every time I moved I got a number that had only been out of service for a couple weeks. Once I kept getting phone calls from a local high school for some kid (not mine) who was absent or in trouble. They always left a message because I was at work when they would call... I kept thinking don't they get it , this is the wrong number. My VM even said Hi your reached Angela ...



One way to get back at a telemarketer is to actually waste their time, that is right let them tell you bullshit go really, oh hmmm maybe and then just say ya know what it was a nice chat but NO don't want to buy it ....BYE I did that once and the guy was really mad he kept trying so I kept letting him talk while I had him on speaker phone and did dishes...

Also I told this other guy who kept calling about some freaking vacation to quit calling my house... he got mad and I cussed his ass out. It felt good! he never called again :)

I'm on it and I still get those calls. I rang Telstra to complain adn they said there was nothing they could do. What's the point of it then!

We were on a list like that for about seven years. I think it has expired because we are being bombarded with telemarketers. It sucks.

in australia we have a do not call register which works great for getting rid of telemarketers...makes it illegal for them to call....

LOL my phone just rang. Telemarketer. No one really calls my cell. I dont know the number. It is for emergencies in the car only kind of phone. So maybe we should shut off our house phone too. Hummm I will have to think about that one.

I shut off the house phone, the only one calling on it was telemarketers. Anyone I need to talk to calls on the cell. of course that can be annoying, when youre busy or shopping or out to eat and people just want to chat.

I am the exact same way. Dont call me because I will not answer. I use to pick up the phone and not say anything before caller I.D. lol

Not much really, Everyone text or emails me! I am not a phone person however. I hate the phone, in fact I think i have a bit of a phobia when it comes to the phone. I dread making phone calls. Weird I know...

People learned really fast I am not going to answer the phone unless it is important. I screen all the time. So they know if they really want my attention text or email me. I will get back at ya.

For my home phone, I put the damn thing on silent. Whoever is going to call that line and not call my cell isn't that important that I must drop what I'm doing during the day; we keep that line for emergencies. My cell rings 1-2 times a day: my hubby during lunch and after work.

I answered the phone: Knock a bock a beach a. If you say it real fast is sounds sort of funny. They hung up and then hubby answer when the called back saying the same thing. It is a line from a movie. I like the toy idea better. Cant wait. lol

It never ends. Half the time I answer the phone "Grand Central Station. How may we ride you today?" I actaly have people hang up thinking it is Grand Central Station.People are stupid.

Yeah whenever I go out I come home to missed calls and messages about nothing. It's sad because I hardly ring anyone. Im going to try that one Heather HAHAHAHA

I'm not home all day but caller id will show at least 1 call sometimes as much as 7. Then when I get home 1-3 calls. If i don't know who it is I don't answer. If it's that urgent they will leave a message. That rminds me. My daughter has a doll that laughs when the tummy is squeezed. So some solicitor kept calling day after day at the same time, chaning kids to get ready for dinner. Pisses me off when they call at dinner time, really any time. Any way I got so sick of the phone ringing at that time I would answer it and squeeze the dolls tummy to make it laugh. All it took was 2 times and they stopped.

ALL FUCKIGN DAY. As soon as the clock strikes nap time o'clock the phone rings and it's some telemarketer I can't get rid of unless I rudely hang up on them. It always rings in the morning and it's always my friend trying to sell me Amway or talk about housework. I've started to just not answer or ring back. Then in the afternoons my husband always rings to ask if I'm out shopping in case I spend all his money and then he goes to buy alcohol and there's no money left.
