I also had extreme water retention. I couldn't wear shoes. Not even flip flops. I wore dear foam slippers.
My mom came over to show me this neat trick. She had me lay with my feet up in the air. She massaged the fluids from my toes up into my legs, and for maybe an hour my feet/legs looked normal again, but man did I pee it out after she did that! It didn't take long for the swelling to come right back. You could poke my foot and it would leave a dent!
That was the worst symptom for me, for sure. I also didn't like tasting blood. My gums would randomly bleed. So did my nose. Pregnancy is so gross. Pimples, gas, peeing yourself. SO FUN!

My edema was so bad with my son that I actually got stretch marks around my knees and on the back of my calves.

I had extreme water retention with my son. Pitted edema, it was horrible. I stood up my feet and legs would swell to the point of agony, and would never go down. I had to stop working early cause I could not stand up for more than 5 monutes at a time. My daughter, I had separated symphysis pubis, where the cartilage from your pubis starts tearing from the bone. It was so painful. I also had terrible leg cramps with her, a varicose vein that blew up and was painful to even look at. I had a lot of very painful things with both kids, but those were the most prominent.

Sciotica nerve pain that was so random, being on my feet all day made it really scary because I never knew when I would get the shooting pain down my leg!
