When did you decide you wanted to become a parent?

I always wanted kids just how it happened was another thing. All 3 of mine were unplanned. My youngest shouldn't of happened, hubby was supposed to get snip snip. They scheduled the consultation for 4th of july. My first I had at 22 second was at 24 and youngest at 26. Scot in Germany and the girls in louisville at different hospitals.

It was babysitting that turned me against having kids. I spent one summer looking after my younger cousins. The one was such a little brat that I swore I'd never have any.

I wanted to be a mother and have kid ever since I was little, but being pregnant with my oldest son at 24 years old was a huge surprise, I gave up law school to be a full time stay at home mom.

I never wanted kids and then I met my husband and changed my mind. I had my little guy when I was 31.

I always always always wanted to be a mom. I also knew that I wanted the guy and the marriage first, and that I wanted to have kids right away. So we did. We tried as soon as we were married- I was 23.
We also want many children. I'm no Michelle Duggar, but I wouldn't mind that many as long as I don't birth them all ;) That's what NFP is for.

Decide that I wanted to be a parent? 14 Well, always wanted to be a mom, but 14 was when the desire started to hit hard.

Actually decide with my husband that it was time to start trying for a baby? 24 ;)

We decided when I was 29 and my husband was 30. I gave birth just after my 30th birthday. I had actually gone off birth control about 7 months before really trying to conceive and spent those 7 months preparing my body, exercising, quitting smoking and that sort of thing. I think I'm almost ready for baby number 2. I've recently gone off the pill, so we will see :)

I think I was about 4 years old. Of course, back then, being a parent was a long term goal. lol

I knew I wanted kids as a kid. I had this whole unrealistic plan for myself. Ironically other than finishing college it all happened with in a few years of that plan. The only reason school didn't happen was because I found out I would have had a hard time finding a job in that field. I wanted to have my first child when I was 23. I had her at 22, I was short by 2 months; but she was planned. After losing my first, we decided to try again, once we were both mentally prepared.

I'd always wanted to wait 'til I was 35, which is average dancer retirement age. I'd been seeing Mike for a bit and we'd discussed kids and marriage and such, but he was willing to wait. Then the theatre I was working at was sold and closed unexpectedly and the company ended up in masses of debt. My choice was to leave Mike and stay in London to find more dance work or to come home and stay in my dead end day job and see what happened. After talking it out, we decided to start our family early and go from there. Now I get to stay home with my kids and I'm working on a new act so I can get out dancing again. Yay!
