People keep telling me that the people on here are not real. That this is only the internet and that it doesnt really matter what happens here. I find that so far from the truth in my opinion. You all seem real to me. I talk with a lot of you every single day. You make me laugh and cry just like real people. I get things in the mail from some of you. Just got a letter today. I can also get stressed out about things that go on in here too. If I have pissed people off on here it bothers me and yes can make or break my day. I feel closer to some of you here than some of my REAL friends. I have talked with some of you on the phone and I have even skyped with some of you. I feel closer to some of you than I do with REAL people. lol I was wondering if any of you feel the same way.

There are a few people on here that I'm close to and feel I know pretty well. So I'd say yes, I do feel there are real people and real friendships that can be made on the internet.

There are a few of you here, you know who you are, that quite frankly are the best friends I have ever had.

Now my dad says that you aren't real friends, that a real friend would take a bullet for you. You have family and wouldn't take a bullet for anyone but your kids, maybe a significant other (but probably not.) But you would try to get me out of the way of a bullet, chase down and beat the crap out of someone who tried shooting me, and be there to help me through the healing process, and those unable to do any of those would simply make inappropriatly timed jokes and comments on how they don't know what to do in times like this(but said with compassion). lol To me that is true friendship.

Oh, and I'm real, but I think you know that already.

I know you guys are real. I've Skyped, written, been written to, talked on the phone, laughed, cried, and even met some people in person. Luckily, I married someone who has made strong friendships over the internet, too, so he understands.

I know I'm real. I'm not about to tell you that you don't really exist.

I feel really close to many people on here and also to many people I met on facebook. I have had phone conversations with a friend I made on fb who lives in India. I met my boyfriend a few years ago on a poetry site, then we became fb friends, met once, and he moved here to rent a room, now hes my bf. There are some friends I have here on com and on various other sites who know more about me, and I more about them , then people I see on a regular basis.
