US federal mandates state that cases are to be reviewed financially every three (3) years to the point where both parents are supposed to include copies of taxes filed and other paperwork to prove their claims. If you don't want to get a lawyer to subpoena proof from the ex on all his monetary claims, then talk with your state/government agency about having a federally mandated review of your case be done and hope seeing hard cold #s in black & white will remove their blinders.

Let it go. File with Child Support Enforcement and then let it go...there are too many loopholes in the law. If they can get it...they will and paying an attorney doesn't usually bring any greater success.

My hubby has 2 kids from his previous marriage and he has and always will be faithful paying child support. He was paying $1400/month and after we had our baby girl, his ex took him back for more money and they gave her less..now $959/month for 2 kids. She is such a bitch, what we have a nother child and suddenly we have MORE money?? Well she makes good money and so does he. I stay home with our daughter so they couldnt use my income..Well he had gotten a $10k bonus in 2008 and it has cost him about $20k..meaning she wanted her attorney fees paid by him but the judge made him pay $1600 of hers (which left her paying $4200 of hers)and of course all of ours. Well it cost her more to take us back to court along with getting less money every month and so haha I guess Karma is a bitch huh??



If he werent paying her I could understand but he pays every freaking month....The judge didnt take in consideration our third child either. I guess they figure I can work and help out but its not like that...



Its so true that judges will go after the fathers that pay and that they know they will get money from them..

Just be constant and deligent with your child support office. My husbands ex owes about $15k in back child support, but now she does not have to pay since she got SSI and not SSD last year. Since SSI is rom the taxxes and not anything she paid into, she now does not have to pay. Its frustrating, and the only way we ill get the back child support is i she has some sort of windfall. We cannot even go back to court on it for 2 years. Contact your attorney gerneral's office, or if you dont mind the fee they will take out, try a thrid party child support collection agency. Good luck, but remember try not to "count" on child support, because you will just stess your self out about money that might not ever be coming.

I am not sure if this site is still current but www.deltabravo.net is a site that has links to every states child support websites. In most cases, having a lawyer isn't a necessity and is sometimes looked down upon by the judges. You can appeal any decision that is made and you can request modifications. Depending on your state, there is also a guideline for exactly when they require income withholding on an order. I know in PA for non-Welfare cases and Welfare cases the amount varies but it is around 3 mths of back owed support or a certain dollar figure, but it depends on the type of case. In PA, the majority of the forms you need are available online but you can also get them from the local office. Go in and explain your situation to them. They can tell you what you need to do. If you don't agree with the decision request an appeal. If you have proof of any income he is receiving provide it.

I have three children from my first marriage. Before my second husband adopted them I was getting 20 dollars every 2 weeks if I was lucky. I was going to the child support in Wisconsin and had him put in jail many times, but it didn't change anything. Now he owes me back child support and I get more now then I did when he was suppose to pay. It is sad. He is still paying the interest he owes every month though. He hasn't touched what he owes itself. Good luck to all that is trying to get child support. It will work itself out.

What state do you live in? You should be able to pull up the Revised Codes on how support is determined. That's complete bullshit that he does not have to document anything. Someone is dropping the ball. Try looking for advocacy groups in your area or a family court self help center. They will be able to help you file/counter his claims and at little expense. Good luck!

You don't need an attorney you can do it on your own. First things first you need to go to your local child support enforcement or collection office and explain your case. They can do many things such as freezing his assets and doing an investigation into his earnings which can be a big help when and if you need to return to court. As far as getting more money you can file a modification for child support on your own just get the paperwork from the family courthouse and complete it on your own. Make sure you keep all documentation you can get your hands on regard his income.

I gave up on Child support....Mine started out as 298.00 a month and now I receive NOTHING!!!!!!!! I have fought tooth and nail to get anything and I'm done. My daughter's father has not seen her in 6 years and I'm more then happy with that, I found a man who gives more than he can afford to her to make up for it.....But dont give in just yet, Keep fighting the laws is your state may be alittle better. That is horrible. I guess it depends on the judge. I know the judge that we go in front of here...is extremely hard on fathers who are dead beats & paying child support...and that's exactly what my daughter's father is...a dead beat paying child support, he hasn't seen her for 1 1/2 yrs. Is there any way that you can request another judge?

I am going through child support enforcement. They told him his child support was going to go up and he asked for a hearing. At the hearing before the judge is always when he seems to get away w/ all of this. I asked that he prove all he was saying and the judge pretty much acted like I was wrong. She didn't make him prove anything.

Wow....I am in absolute shock about this. I took my daughter's father for child support...he had to bring in his pay stubs from work. If he would be on unemployment, he would have to show proof of what he is getting. I get 161.02 a week for her. I would talk to the people in at the child support place & go over everything with them. I live in Pennsylvania & to have any kind of income applied to how much I get, there has to be proof of EVERYTHING. To get extra money for day care...I had to take in receipts to prove what I was paying. If they don't listen to your side of things or change something about it...then a lawyer is your best way to go. I hope things get better for you hun. It sounds like a real mess. I hope this helps.

it could be worse I have an order to get 275 a month for my son who is special need and for the longest I got nothing now i get like 15 dallors every 2 weeks or aleast I have for the last 2 months. My son is 3 and in total I have recieved about 120 dallors. My son has been hospitalized 14 times and he and his family could care less I have no contact with them and I'm starting to think it better that way! U have to fight cause once the men find out how to get away with this it just get worse and worse. If u can work with the child support enforcement agency they will have better luck at getting things done.They have taken his licence away and put a warrent out for his arrest and thats why I am getting money now lol. They will also make him prove his income and stuff good luck and dont give up it just makes it easier for the next guy to get away with it!

If you haven't already, contact your local child support office. Be sure to call them frequently so they'll see that you're serious about this. Every time he takes you to court to lower his support, appeal it. Keep doing this and eventually the judge will get the picture. While you're waiting for your court date, gather as much information against him as you can. Just keeping fighting back, and hopefully you'll get your support back.
