I loved the Twilight series but I wasn't too excited about the racey content. I thought the characters were interesting and the story was creative. What do you think about the books? Are you a member of one of the Twilight fansites? What did you like most about the books?

I thinkt wilight has some good messages. To wait to have sex until marriage, ehich is an issue but there is some bad messages as u need a boyfriend to be happy. Some people say Bella swan is a setback in feminism. I disagree. I think twilight is one of the those books that are addictive and is beautifully well written. The books aren't racy at all but it goes into great detail about the birth scene. It really depends how mature ur daughter to start reading it.

I think that Twilight actually has a good message, I think it basically shows that Edward who is a vampire, has enough self control to put off the monster inside of him. I think we can all learn, that we can control ourselves.

I haven't read the books because I didn't even hear about them until the movie came out. I have seen the movie though and I absolutely loved it. I didn't think there was anything racey about the movie. I LOVED that it was a love story without sex or making out. There aren't very many movies like that today. I can't wait for the next movie!

I absolutely love the Twilight Series. I even have hated reading all my life, and now it has changed my point of view on books. My sister who's husband is in the bishopric really hesitated reading them, but finally just finished all of them and loved them too. Her in laws are really skeptical of the books, but none of them have read them for themselves.

I would probably want my kids to wait to read them until they are old enough to understand that aspect of life of sex and marriage, but I think Stephanie Meyer left most of it to your imagination. I didn't find any of it offensive or racy either. I am also a member of moms who love Twilight. I am wanting to read them again, and hopefully she will write more.

I loved the Twilight saga and I guess I found it not so racy. I guess it sort of depends on how you read it. My 16 year old daughter introduced me to the series and I am hooked. I find that because of the vampire/human relationship they have to keep the physical more in check so it's more about the emotional and mental relationship. I have recommended it to many friends of mine because of it. I always put a warning with Breaking Dawn that it is a little more in the fantasy range when it comes to the birth, but Stephenie Meyer handles so beautifully the issues of sex and sex before and after marriage, why wouldn't you want your teen to read those messages?
I think they are a great escape, my husband supports me. He hasn't read them but has heard about them from both me and my daughter. We've had some pretty heart to heart talks about what would we do if... from the books. I think the morality of Edward (especially) is part of my favorite part of the books. I just love them all.
I am a member of the Moms who like Twilight Circle here, but nothing else. Sometimes I look at the other sites but nothing serious, just enough for my curiosity. I'm really sorry you see them as racy. Maybe if you read them again you would come away with a more old time turn of the century morality like I believe there is meant to be.
But that's just my opinion.
From a Bella who married her Edward....

I loved the books. I was a little skeptical to read them at first. I am not a member of any fansites. I like that I can escape reality for a while. OK more than a while because I was useless while reading the books. I did struggle with the 4th book I was just not as into it as the others. I really like Stephanie Meyers "THE HOST" have you read that? It is totally different from the TWILIGHT series but so good.
