We have a beautiful soon to be three year old girl who has been diagnosed with ASD. She is the light of our lives and wouldn't trade her for anything. We are in touch with a few other families who have an autistic child, but no lesbian moms like us. Anyone else out there?

Hi, not sure where you are from, but I would suggest contacting the LGBT Centre in the nearest major city, to see if they have any kind of parent group. In places like Toronto, there has been such a baby boom that I am sure there are other lesbian moms with kids with special needs. We adopted 2 boys and both have some special needs. Initially the yougest was suspected of having ASD, but that has been ruled out. Unfortunately we still do not have a diagnose, just a list of behaviours and regular visits to the psychologist.

My step-sister has Austism. She is 22 now, but it was definitely and eye-opening experience growing up with her in the house. She is such a great person.

My son is 6 with Asperger's. If she is the light of your lives, she's in very good hands. They are so special. :)

Our oldest is Autistic. We have 4 as well. 16, 13, 7 and 9 mts. 7 year old is blind, Life is busy, messy and sometimes really hard around here but I would not trade any of my kids for kids that are 'better'

I am impressed. We feel like our hands are full with one. Couldn't imagine four. How old is your child with asperger's? What are the ages of your other children?
