I recently was stuck at home on a rainy Saturday looking for ways to keep my kids busy. If any other moms have ideas on indoor games please share!!!
I came up with some, and "fashion show" was a favorite! I let the girls raid my closet and parade their favorite outfits (yes, cleanup was a little annoying)...Another was the old standby - baking cookies. Obviously no complaints there.

We bake! My sons loves to be in the kitchen helping, i find it a great time killer on rainy days. Not to mention always a delicious snack!

My 3 boys love to color & paint and make me pictures, I end up having alot of them laminated so they dont get ruined. We also play monopoly & other board games. :)

My sons favorite thing to do is finger paint when we are stuck inside. He is 3 so anything he can paint on and not get in trouble for he loves.He also likes to play with his blocks and build "castles". He also likes it when he gets to wrestle around with me or his dad. I hope thats helps for the nest time.

if you have boys...build a fort or a castle outta stuff around the house...for older kids card games...i spy...blocks...mattress wrestling...that one is fun...!!! have the kids make up silly songs of their own...

Obsticle courses, forts, picnics, campouts (move chairs, cover table in blankets - becomes tent). Turn on loud music and dance. Flashlight hide and seek. 20 questions (also good for road trips). But remember, puddle jumping can e fun too!!

It kind of depends on the age of the kids. We're starting to collect those childhood board games we all remember (CandyLand, Chutes and Ladders, etc.). You can do Memory with just a deck of cards or, for something more personal, doubles of some family photos. Dress up is always fun, girls more so than boys. Everybody loves to come up with a fun costume. Playdough is good. Coloring, painting, collages (I have no idea how to spell that, but take mags and cut out pics and glues to another sheet of paper is what I'm meaning), making up stories (try to write down, some are just hysterical). Cooking is always fun and can lead to tea parties. My boys love to get the restaurant going.
Kids love to do grown up stuff. That's always a great place to start. Hope that helps.

My mom used to make playdough for my sister and I and now my sister makes it for her daughter and I plan to make it for mine when she's old enough. It is only slightly messy but super fun and keeps well if you put it in a tightly lidded containter.
