My name is Michelle and I have an 8 and half year old son who is an only child. Because my son kept telling me that he was an only child so he needed a pet, I just went out and bought him a guinea pig which I never would have done if he had a sibling but I guess "only child' guilt got to me. Anyone else ever feel that way?

I'm actually ok most of the time but every now and then I do have guilt about my son being an only child especially since I CHOSE it. Unlike many others, I could have had a second baby if I wanted to but chose not to because I didn't think I would be able to handle it with my work schedule. How about you?

Wow! Nancy you have a lot of pets. Which one is the most work and which one is the least? How do you like having a rabbit? We almost bought one but changed our mind to get a guinea pig instead. Does the rabbit like to be held?

Oh and as for the guilt....let me know if you find a way to get rid of it. There is nothing to feel guiltly about. I am confident we made the right decision considing all involved however the guilt always pops up.

Yes we just got my 7 year old a puppy. We have 2 cats, 1 rabbit, a gecko and fish. I think we may be over doing it. I have to say I like all the "action" in the house.
