I was just reading some of the posts and it seems like there are quite a few of you who are afraid to approach people about your business. I once heard a stat (last year) that there are 30,000 people in the United States looking for a Direct Sales Opportunity every day. So, my feeling is that if one person says they are not interested in your business, you move on to the other 29,999 that might be. So think about why you joined the Direct Selling Business that you are a part of. What drew you to your company? If you want to succeed in ANY Direct Selling Business, you need to OPEN YOUR MOUTH and share what you love. When I am going through a check-out line, I ask the checker (with my most positive, fun, bubbly, happy voice) if they have a current copy of the Scentsy catalog. Immediately, they are thinking that in fact, they should have a copy and why have they missed out on having one. If you try this with your head hanging low, and you can\'t look the person straight in the eye, or if you talk so quiet because you are afraid of a \"NO THANK YOU\", then this approach won\'t work. If you LOVE the company you are with, be proud of what you have to offer! Our motto for Scentsy is \"Shine in 2009\". Believe in your products, and don\'t let one or two \"NO\'s\" stop you in your tracks. Move on until you get your \"I would love a catalog\" (or a business card, or to set up a party). Be excited, hold your head up high, and know that you may have the opportunity that could make a difference in someone else\'s life. With the economy the way it is, people are looking. Let\'s all open our mouths, be excited, and \"Shine in 2009\"!
