Looking for a home business with inexpensive products.

I used to sell Mary Kay but the prices just got too high. I won't try to sell something that I wouldn't pay for myself. I thought about Avon but my area is pretty saturated with that. I like candles but all the companies I've found seem overpriced. Maybe I'm hoping for too much. I just feel if I could find a reasonably priced product that I could sell the heck out of it! Any suggestions? Thanks!

Hi Melissa! I looked through the rest of the posts to make sure not to duplicate info you already had. I am a Close To My Heart Scrapbooking and Stamping company. We are celebrating 25 years in business and offering so great deals to new consultants. Before I found Close To My Heart I wasn't interested in any direct sales businesses. The second I attended my first CTMH gathering I fell in love with the products. They are affordable, innovative and top of the line! Majority of the products are better quality and more affordable than Michael's or AC Moore and certainly more affordable than specialty scrap stores. You do not have to carry an inventory, the company has great specials for both customers and consultants and the products sell themselves. I can't say enough about Close To My Heart! If you are interested the March special offers all new consultants that sign up in March an opprotunity to buy up to 2 organizatonal products at 50% off!  For more info or to sign up as a consultant you can visit my website at http://scrapwithfaith.myctmh.com. Feel free to email me i you are interested as well scrapwithfaith@myctmh.com

Hi Melissa, my name is Natacha and I beleive I have something way better and easier than all these MLM compamies you suggested.

It's a wellness company, they only sell online and have over 400 products to choose from...I've been buying their stuff for over a year now, and only now realised now how much I could do with them. They're not a MLM, you don't buy things you resale, you only buy what you need with them and refer people to do as well and get paid for it. Being a mom I was really concerned with all the house cleaners and laundry detegent I was using, now I suse theirs I save money (actually I make some) and I pretect the environment and my family.

No inventories, no paperwork, no meetings, simply switch brands and reorder with them!

If you're interested I can guide through their website and tell you more about it.

check it out melaleuca.com...they have make up and candles as well if that's what you're comfortable selling too..lol

you'll just my help to register...let me know!

let me know

Cordially, Natacha.

HI Melissa - I see from the conversation blog there have been many suggestions and great compnaies out there.  The at home business that I started is a canadian based company that was started by a mom - and it is an item that everyone loves - food.  Not just any food but spices blends or simple spices that can be used in everyday cooking, in new reciepes or in your existing ones to help SAVE time.  that was a big 1 for me.  they are good quality blends that can be used in a multifunctional way...big plus for me.  it is called EpicureSelections.  please visit our website.  WWW.EpicureSelections.com  Even if you are already into another successful business have a look at our products...affordable and yummy.  We even have a full time nutritionist and chieft that work on the new products.  We are rated in the top Direct selling companies in Canada.  Already been 11years.

Arbonne, Home interiors and more. I just recently joined gold canyon. I have to tell you at first i didn't think people would want them because of the price, I was mistaken, people love these candles because you get what you pay for. I have never had people come to me and want to book parties, well now i do. they are easy to sell and Gold Canyon offers great home based business plan. check out my site for more info

I did Mary Kay AND Arbonne and found that they were so expensive and the market was saturated where I am at. I couldn't offer the products to anyone without them getting their product from someone else. It was discouraging. In November I discovered Seriesse International. It is skin care and nutritional products . The company was founded by Sylvester Stalllone and his wife Jennifer Flavin stallone. The reason I decided to go with the company was because of the amazing support. There are videos on the website to show you how to apply the products and explains the effectiveness of the ingredients in the product. Plus, the company products have actually been sold for over 10 years with over 1 billion $ is sales, it was just recently Jennifer Stallone decided to open it up as a network marketing company. The products are amazing. Some of the products you see immediate results. The salons I have contacted here LOVE that.

I really think that if you liked Mary Kay, you would love this. You can view my website at www.myseriesse.com/vermont. My # is listed on the site. I would love for you to join my team.

Hi Melissa,

I read through the posts and saw a couple online travel booking sites so I wanted to mention our company too. I'm a World Ventures rep and it's an awesome company in the biggest industry that's growing exponentially now in spite of this crazy economy. The concept of booking your travel and having your friends and family book their travel through your website just makes a heckuva lot of sense. It's got a dirt cheap start up, your "job" is to refer someone to your website when they're looking to book air, flight, cruise, car or vacations; when someone books you get the commission. Plus what I *love* is that we offer weekly condo, home and villa rentals for amazing prices. We have a match or beat policy for preferred customers on our website so your customers aren't just being nice by booking through you, they're saving money.

I love it and I figure even if I don't make a gob of money (though the potential is certainly there and we're doing well so far) I'm saving money when I travel by getting my own commission and I get all the great tax benefits that come along with a home based business.

The business opportunity can be seen on my website: www. earthquest.worldventures.biz and you can poke around and see the travel club membership we also sell, amazing prices on wonderful vacation packages.

If anyone's just looking to get great deals on travel just go to: www.earthquest.rovia.com (remember that villas/condo button those properties are amazing!!)

Thanks for your time. Jen

I would be happy to discuss the opportunity of Arbonne with you, send you a catalog and some samples if you are interested. You may reach me any time at 858-401-9047 or email me at Brandycat123@hotmail.com.

Wow! I went through the entire list and didn't see the company I work for. That's a shame because my business is booming. I sell Pure Romance products. PR is recession proof. My sales haven't decreased at all. People are saving money so they're aren't going out and they are going with out so they stay home. But do you know what couples do when they stay home?! You can't go wrong with Pure Romance.

How about something people are already buying? We have a new line of "green" cleaning product that begin shipping mid-March. This line is 100% toxin-free, using different combinations of enzymes for different cleaning needs. The prices are comparable to name brand (chemical based) products. The entry cost is low and so is the requirement to start earning.

If you're interested, call or e-mail, and I'll give you more info.

Not only do you want to look at a resonably priced product, you also want to make sure you are making enough money to make it worth your time to leave your home and leave your family in the evenings. With Premier, we make 50% of everything we sell. You will not find this with any other product. And, we do not have quotas. I would LOVE to talk to you more about it. Premier is an AMAZING company and I feel so BLESSED to have it in my life. I am able to stay home with my kids because of Premier. Plus, you look pretty everywhere you go----wearing your jewelry!!!

Melissa,
Boy that's a lot of responses to go thru!!

Hey, Just thought I'd add my two cents as well!! I'm currently a working mom hoping to become a SAHM!! A few months ago I signed up with Dove Chocolate to do CHOCOLATE PARTIES!!  I figured, who doesn't love chocolate....it's something new and fun that people of all ages can enjoy and (i hope) would look forward to going to.  Let me know if you want any more info.  The kit to join (it gives you enough product and catalog's etc to do at least 4 parties-I made my kit price back in the first two parties) is normally $149 but thru March 31st it's only $99.  For $99 I can't imagine saying no....it's truly a groundfloor opportunity....Have you ever heard of a chocolate party? Would you be interested to go to one?  I know I would have been and that's what sold me on it.  I knew the interest would be there.  You can work around your schedule and have parties when you want them (you make time slots and fill them, don't go by what the people want-give them a time YOU want)  the company is very supportive and will give you all the help you need.  There are over 350,000 pampered chef consultants, there are only about 1000 chocolatiers nationwide!!  I'm proud to be one of the firsts with the company that I know is here to stay!!  Let me know if you're interested in getting some more info!   Good luck!!   www.dovechocolatediscoveries.com/samistadi

Hi Melissa- I just read through everyone's posts becuase I didn't want to duplicate something you may have already heard.  There are many business that people have suggested that I know you'll be happy with and that I personally love to be a hostess for!  I was really suprised that no one had suggested Athome America yet!  I have been with this company for 4 years and absolutely believe it is the best company out there.

The key is finding what you are passionate about, is it jewlery, home decor, cooking, make-up?

Here are some statistics:  AtHome America is currently offering a $700 star up kit for ONLY $50 (through the end of february).  They just announced the next big trip will be to BERMUDA!  65% of our catalog is under $30 and 95% of the catalog is under $50.  We have a very high homeshow average of over $500, mine homeshow average is a little higher than that at $773!  Becoming a leader and earning bonuses can happen as soon as 3 months into the business (or less)!

I would love to tell you more, check out my website at: www.athome.com/amandaanderson

Good Luck on your search!

Hi Melissa, I would like to suggest a product that your area is probably not saturated with. It is called SwissJust. Wellness products made out of pure essential oils. It originated in Swizterland 79 years ago. We are trying to open the US market. My favorite thing about this company is that it is not geared only towards women! There are products for the whole family, my husband and my 5 year old son use this stuff. Check out my website www.tiffiny.swissjust-usa.com. or you can email me tiffinyann@hotmail.com. Depending on where you live you might be eligible to receive a free start up kit.

Hi Melissa! My name is Shelia. My husband & I are in a company that is out of this world. It's called Fortune Hi-Tech Marketing. The income possibilities are better than any I've ever seen. Take a look at it- www.fhtmus.com/RickyMartin . Our rep id 2655507. All you do is get friends & family to renew cell phone, Dish Network & other contracts through your website & get other people to do the same thing. You don't collect money, deliver products or buy products. It's all done by companies themselves. We have Alltel, Nextel, Verizon, AT&T, & others. I've been with the company around 5 monthes & I'm making over $2,000.00 a month. Plus it's residual income that you earn every month for the life of the contract. My email is newbornnursery@triad.rr.com if you'd like more info.

Melissa,

I sell Discovery Toys and LOVE it! All of the toys are guaranteed for life which is really nice when selling to other moms and they are an easy sell because as a "mom" your running into new customers all the time! My children love the toys they're educational, encourage learning through play and lots of the games really help me when it's time to sit down and "play" with my children.

Right now (only till Feb 28th) you can buy the starter kit for $99 which gives you 14 of our most popular starter toys, a handful of business supplies (cataloges, order forms etc) and a great rolling tote to store your toys in!

Let me know ASAP if you are interested, sorry to rush you but the kit does go up to $155 as of the end of this month and I'd like to see more people get the better deal LOL.

Talk to you soon

How about not having to "sell" anything? Just direct your contacts to a site where the consumer gets amazing value, brand name products they are looking for delivered to their door and no inventory for you! BUT you get paid! No meetings, parties, tastings, or hosting of anything. No recruiting or sales quotas required. Sound too good to be true? It's not...it's e-commerce at its finest!

I'd love to tell you more. I work this amazing job from home with my 2 kids while finishing my bachelors degree...and I'm having FUN! There is also a wonderful fundraising component to this business model. The non-profits (or for profits) earn a substantial amount and you get paid too! This is a pre-launch opportuntiy...strong European company that just came to the US. But, this is NOT MLM.

If you'd like to know more, just send me an email and we can arrange a time to talk. I can also send you some additional information.

Sincerely,

I have been selling Tupperware since October.  The start-up price is really reasonable and they are having specials right now for new consultants.  I'm not a pushy type of person and I could care less about recruiting.  In fact, I don't really even do recruiting pushes at my parties.  Everyone loves Tupperware and it's getting harder for people to find reps.  You can do book parties, e-parties or regular in-home parties.

[deleted account]

Hi Melissa!

You are not hoping for too much. I was in Mary Kay for over 15 years and yes its expensive to run a business. My husband and I now own our business through a company called WOW Green. The product is home cleaning products! Its not glamourous, just practical. :) No matter where the economy is, we still need to clean our home and clothes! The best part is that these products are eco-friendly and NON-TOXIC! They are extremely safe for your pets and children. Did youknow the adverse effects on your health in using common cleaning products like Clorox, Lysol or Fantastik??? WOW Green has a patent enzyme process that NO ONE else carries. The products are amazing!!! And they even help your plumbing stay clean as they go down the drain and they have NO negative impact to our environment. Even their packaging and containers are recyleable. You DO NOT have to keep inventory. When someone wants to order something they go into your website and the company drop ships it to them. How cool is that! You don't have to front the money for inventory or shipping. You can email me at smilu@live.com for more info. They just started selling their home products through distributors so you are here at the right place at the right time! Your Mary Kay skills will make this so easy to share with others. My friend who shared this opportunity with me was a Mary Kay Sales Director for years! I look forward in hearing from you! God bless!

Don't go for the "cheapest " product! You need to have a passion for what you do and decide to promote. I am a director with Mary Kay - the Miracle Set - Cleanser, Moisturizer, Day solution with SPF 25, and Night Solution Anti aging PATENTED products are less than a $1 to use a day! Are you not worth a $1 a day? the price point is so affordable! Plus I have a passion for the MK Charitable Foundation - mostly the awareness of teen dating violence that Amanda Bynes has agreed to team up with MK to promote the awareness. With Chris Brown in the news and I have a 9 yr. asking me why?? well it is a scary world for us moms of girls! So with Passion the world is yours! To make a quick buck?? well probably will fail.

Hi Melissa,

Have you heard of Gold Canyon Candles? They are very reasonable in price. In the current Spring catalog the highest price item is $46.98 for a set of 3 Crystal Candle Stand. Our lowest price item is a wick dipper for $3.48 & our main candle line for a 26 oz. candle is $18.98. This is better priced than a Yankee candle ( a 14 oz Yankee is already over $20) So as you can see, the prices are fair.

Also, Gold Canyon is the best candles in the market. You have to try it yourself & you'll be hooked. You can sell at home shows, catalog shows, through your own personal website, & fundraising. Visit www.mygc.com/gaelgordon for more information or call 641-715-3900 ext. 58604# to listen to a pre-recorded call about Gold Canyon. I would be happy to help you if you are interested.

Good luck!

Hello,

I am unsure if any one else has let you know about The Pampered Chef.  Some of the products are expensive but not all of them are and most items have a guarantee. Since they are kitchen tools everyone that cooks needs them. If you would like more info let me know. Have a Pampered Day! ~ Andriea

Hi Melissa! When deciding which direct-sales company to sign up with, the most important thing for me was to choose a product line that I am passionate about. That's why I became a Close To My Heart consultant 2 years ago. Close To My Heart enables people to celebrate their relationships through the art of scrapbooking, card making and papercrafting. I LOVE teaching others how to preserve their memories through scrapbooking, making beautiful handmade cards, gifts and home decor. Start-up cost is as little as $99 and like any home-based business, you get what you put into it. But if you like stamping, scrapbooking and papercrafting, check out my website at www.marienichols.myctmh.com. E-mail me if you have any questions.

I wouldn't give up on Avon there are alot of people here selling it as well as I do and we do great. It is only 10 to sign up with your local leadership rep or 20 to get started online that you are pretty much guarenteed to make back your first couple of campaigns. I personally make over 200 in commission each campaign and there are 2 a month. Let me know if you want to start and I can help you get started online.

Hi Melissa - it looks like there is a ton of opportunity out there and you'll have so much to choose from. I just started with an at home mobile spa business. I'm a full time CPA and I do this for the treatmetns and the extra income. As with any home business, you will get out of it what you put in. That's what I'm learning. I love it and if anything I say strikes a note with you, I'd love to discuss it some more. God Bless, Stephanie.

We've all heard the saying "It takes money to make money" but not with my company.  I joined back in September of 2006 with no money out of my pocket and I can show you how to do the same.  Our products are unique and not a "one size fits all" that you will find in a drug store or grocery store.  We are more potent, more full strength and offer a Medi-spa or Day-Spa quality but at a fraction of the price.  We don't have T.V. or magazine ads and we don't pay super stars millions of dollars to back our products giving us very low overhead.  We put 2 million back into testing to make sure all products are safe and effective.  One product is tested by over 350 people when it is first created in our own research institute using cutting edge technology and the testing continues on each product for 10 plus years to ensure it remains safe and effective.  Another benefit is all of our products are super concentrated...a little goes a long way which is very cost effective for the consumer.
