well.. it really depends on the parent and the child! i potty trained my son early.. he was fully potty trained at 1 1/2yrs old! :D
but the big thing to look out for is when they wake up from a nap or just bed time.. do they have a dry diaper? if so.. that means hes startin to get more control of his little body! i dont suggest the pull ups b/c they "PULL UPS" TO US.. But the child sees them as the same old diapers. i pretty much explained t my son u go "poo poo" and "pee pee" in the toilet.. or training potty. threw underware on hm and once he soiled them.. he realized how messy it was. i told him everytime "its ok, but next time try to go in the potty! thats where it goes :) " you have to constantl ask them if the have to go to the potty and sometimes just take them an sit them on the potty!
my husband and i both did some research online.. n found that whispering in the childs ear the "sssssss" sound helped them go pee! its like a grown person thinking of a waterfall! :)
and def. always show excitement like Guadalupe said! We did a little dance and had a little potty song for when our son would go potty!
i hope this helped! if anything jus ask!
*my sons been potty trained for a year now :D GOOD LUCK!

I knew when my boys could take off their shorts, pants and diapers. They were ready to get potty trained. This happened around 34 months. They are ready. I didn't do the pullups because they still went on them like if they were diapers. It will take a while for them to get the hang of it. But just show excitement for them asking and using the toilet they love the idea mom is proud of them.

Now already if he is over 1 1/2 years old. You start by buying him pull ups look at the time he drinks and eats and take him 15 to 20 minutes later. Also ask if he has to go. When you go take him with you better yet if you have the father or a male figure have them show him. My husband taught my nephew when I was taking care of him.

Hi Samina, My son is turning 3 in January, and I started potty training my son after he turned 2. I got him a potty chair that sings when he uses the bathroom in it, and he was scared to death to pee in that thing! lol. he eventually got used to it, and i would sit him down in the chair to watch some t.v. and i also used a pot (like a cooking pot) and sat it next to him and sat his mickey mouse on top, and told him (my son) that we have to potty train mickey as well. so i taught him and he taught mickey, and it worked well. he was on the toilet in about 2-3 weeks. now he is fully potty trained and only wears a diaper to bed. (: we have saved alot of money since he does not wear diapers during the day anymore. good luck!!! (:

My little boy just turned 3 in October and he is barely starting to let us know but he still has some accidents and our 4 year old started when he was around 2, so all kids are different they will know when it is their time, try to be patient because I used to push my 3 year old to go and it was just a battle and guess who won...haha....anyways he is finally letting us know and I am so glad because those pullups sure are expensive.....good luck.
