Ok, here's my question...

My sister is in the process of a nasty divorce with a guy from Argentina.

He won't sign the divorce, he no longer lives in the US and he is claiming that she stole 72,000 dollars in jewelry from some fake "inheritance" he received prior to their marriage!!!! THIS IS ABSOLUTELY NOT TRUE!!! Now he wants her to pay for his lawyer and for "all the distress the divorce has caused him"

He is lying about his legal status in the country plus he says he will present invoices (of course, from his native country) regarding the value of his inheritance. Recently, my sister discovered he married a girl in Argentina WHEN THEY WERE STILL LEGALLY MARRIED IN THE US!!! Plus, he won’t give child support to his son with special needs.

I can't believe there's scum like this "man" in the world. He is a crook and a liar!!!! Any advice regarding this counterclaim will be appreciated, thank you.

well first of all anything prior to the marriage including and inheritance has nothing to do with your sister. if she did indeed have that then it should of been considered a gift from him. as his legal status you can deport him but i dont think anything can be done for the child support since he is not legally in the states.

I hope your sister has spoken to a lawyer, and not just any lawyer. Not all divorce lawyers will be fully aware of what this particular situation entails.

Unfortunately there are alot of scum bags in this world. It sounds like the ex is being very spiteful. Usually when people act in a spiteful way it's because they feel that if they hurt you then you cant hurt them.

Anyways, good luck to your sister. Sounds like she's going to need it. She's better off moving on with her life and keeping far far away from him.
