About 5 mounths ago, he started to eat his finger´s nails, at the begining it doesn´t seem a big deal, but now it´s. I try everything, I put on him salt, pepper, gloves, try to gave him stress balls and nothing seems to work.

My daughter was also doing this and I just stayed on her about it, I also because she's a girl painted her nails and told her to keep them pretty :) You can't really do that with your son but they do make a clear nail polish that is for nail biters it has a nasty taste which could cause him to think twice before putting them to his mouth.

If hes biting his nails it must be cause he is afraid, nervous or insecure.talk to him when you see him doing it and reassure him that everything is fine. If he continues , rub savila on his nails and he wont like the taste anymore.

My four year old use to have this bad habit..and I figure out, he only did this when he was nervous. Since he is four, I would explain to him not to bite or eat his finger nails. I showed how to use the safety nail clipper and we would clip his names together once a week. He actually enjoys clipping his nails. We cut his nails short so he can't continue biting them.

you need to know what's triggering him to do this, when does he do this, sometimes they get nervous because they're in trouble, or they're scared of something, it's more of a comforting thing, for something that is frightening them, or when they are feeling insecure.
