Hi,
I have a 7month old boy who doesnt give me any time to do anything. He is just such an active baby. We have bought him so many toys to see if they help, like the swing, bouncer, playpen, walker, exersaucer...etc... and NOTHING. lol Not only that, he hardly takes any nap through out the day. If he does he sleeps for 15min max. He usually takes a nap around 12pm and another one around 4pm, but thats it. I don't know if this is normal? Anyone else had the same experience?
Kari

your baby is normal.that's just what babies do.keep you busy and wear you out.count your blessings that your child is not sick.i asure a mother with a sick child wishes for her baby to be active.

I think that a 7 months old sleeping 2 naps is totally healthy and normal, some babies dont even try a second nap at all, most active babies are just bright little brains learning all the things around them, my son only slept one long nap after lunch time til about 3 it was not unhealthy for him, he was more active than most babies at 7 month I got him a huge play pen where he could safely crawl all over the livingroom floor he loved it and I got to do most of my chores, there is no way that you can over stimulate a baby, if there is too much stuff going on they turn away and do something else or even take a nap right there. just try to ask your pediatrician if it's normal, so you can feel better about this.

Maybe it something that we ate during pregnancy LOL! my 7-month old daughter is xactly the same way, she has all the toys but it don't help she won't pay attention to them. She LOVES to be jumping in my arms forget the jumparoo. I'm amazed at the energy such a little person has, I have 2 other children and they weren't like my little one. She's still a doll, but I'm also feeling drained all the time.

Hi Kari,

it sounds like my son - a few years back - and I have to tell ya... he's still one of the most energetic kid's IN THE WHOLE WORLD. Everywhere we go, anyone who meets him and pays any attention will see him just... GO! he's nonstop but Oh My, he's my super adorale little guy with such a huge, loving heart.

He touches everything, breaks it if you give him a second... he runs - doesn't like to walk slowly... he's the best and I wish you all the luck in the world.

Keep in touch because I tell you, I FEEL your "pain". I'm exhausted on a daily basis and along with it, I'm learning so much from him. My son is now 3 and is a twin.

not normal or healthy to sleep so little...be careful not to overstimulate...it is ok in this case to allow baby to cry a bit to settle down and fall asleep...lots of fresh air to help with sleep...if baby wakes up after a short nap don't pick up...say a few soothing things and that it is nap time and leave the room...
