I have a three year old boy who just started using the toilet for mostly pp, he started using cotton underwear at home and daycare, when he's home he lets me know when he wants to do pp but at daycare no matter what he wears(cotton underwear or pull outs) or how much water he drinks, he does not pee at all, the teachers usually tell me they take him to the toilet with the rest of the kids but he refuses even if he has his toilet sit with him and he has told the teachers he wanted to pee a couple of times but he stopped, even when I pick him up there has been days when he rushes to tell me he wants to pee or like today he peed in his pants. I'm not sure if this could be a nervous reaction or something else, I'm really concerned that he's holding it for so many hours at daycare and I'm running out of ideas. Also I want him to get used to doing pooh on the toilet which is very hard since he suffers from serious constipation to the point that he has to take medication. I'm very worried and not sure what to do. Any suggestions?

That is a really tough situation. My son had a problem going to the bathroom at school and it turned out that he was being harrassed. Is he embarrased to go at daycare? Maybe he doesn't like the bathroom there? Does he feel pressure to go? It's hard to find out since he's only 3. About the constipation, does he drink a lot of milk? Have you tried adding prune juice to his drink? That might help a little. I feel for you. If you can't find an answer then maybe you might want to try asking his pediatrician. I hope you find an answer soon.
