was born on 8th march 2002. he is my eldest and a very cheeky chap indeed. he has got hearing problems, and some other minor issues with his learning and behaviour that we are keeping an eye on but it is most likely to associated with frustration from his hearing problem.

he is a very independant and inquisitive child, who is ALWAYS on the go. He neverstops moving about even when hes sitting still. he is a fiddler too, he must always have something to be touching or he gets bored easily. whether it be a toy or just a piece of thread, his teacher says that he concentrates more on what he is learning if his fingers are moving, than when he is told o sit still so she doesnt bring it to his attention and we agree that he doesnt know hes doing it.

i hope i havent prattled on too much and that i get to meet some more mum's of march 02 kiddies.

My daughter was diagnosed ADHD and we found some interesting ways to keep her concentration in class. They gave her little gel beads to roll her fingers around in and it seems to help her fidgeting, it might for your son too. As for her concentration during math and science they have her helping ESL students (english as a second language). It helps her do her work while she explains the process to them and it boosts her self esteem to know she is helping them while she helps herself. Talk to your doctor about alternatives to drugs if he is diagnosed with ADD or ADHD. You may be surprised at the improvement he displays. Hope this helps!

My daughter was born march 22/02.. She has problems with school, it turns out is has ADD and we're working on her school work.  In Sept/08 her reading level was 0 and now it is level 5 and that's great work.  She just has to stay forcus with her school work and not let her mind wonder off somewhere.  She is very active and doing everything that a six old can do.  Hope to chat again some time.
