Yep, we will be having a 2nd Birthday party - we had a really fun 1st B-day, the theme was baseball, this year will be Construction trucks... we actually wait until april to have the party because my in-laws are in FL until then... so it works out and we can have it outside...

I'm definetly having a 2nd b-day for my son. It's going to be at a park with lots of food and fun. Probably a moonwalk for the older kids. I like to go big for birthday parties. They only have a birthday once a year.

i have been thinking about this too. i was thinking not big but some closer friends at a park or something like that. this way the children still get to celebrate their day, especially since they are starting to recognise things like this.

Yes. For us its important to celebrate every birthday however, as the 1 yr was, the 2 yr will also be informal and intimate with just family and a close friend or two. She is very social but she really doesnt care about a bunch of other kids yet so not worrying about that till age 3 or 4 -elmo the theme if she is still into him by then.
We are planning easy -Pizza, Elmo cake, Baloons and singing -she will be happy as a clam :)

We were going to do a Yo Gabba Gabba theme but I'm not that crafty and they don't have party things to buy for that yet.

Im doing a joint party too my oldest and joungest are 2 years appart minus 4 days.. its mostly family and few friends with kids.. nothing big... I havent decided the theme or anything yet but it will be fun as always:)

I'm having a joint first and second birthday party for my kids born a year and 12 days apart, I'm doing a bannana's in pajamas theme everyone has to come in their pajamas, B1 and B2 cake, bannana lollies, honey crackles (munchie honey cakes), yellow jelly.

I'm definitely planning a 2nd party.  Amelia is our only child so it's definitely in the works.  We don't have many friends with kids so it's mostly going to be family.  Wonder Pets is going to be the theme.

I have also wrestled with the notion of having a 2nd yr birthday party. For our sons' 1st we spent it with another couple at a resturaunt and he loved the attention of just the very small group. This year we thought why not have some friends over and just let him enjoy playing with some of our friends kids'. He is also very much into Elmo and just loves music, so our theme would be Elmo and a show called Yo GABA GABA (for the music/dancing). It will still be very small and very informal, just enough for him to be excited when he blows out the candles (we've been practicing our blowing)... The event doesn't have to be overwheleming for you or your child, just a small gathering to wish them another Happy Year! Hope this helps...
